Default DS610 mounting question

I am putting together a 6hv with DS610 servos and am a little perturbed by the available mounting hardware. The mounting hardware that comes with the servo is designed to be used with the rubber grommets and brass inserts . The hardware with the 6hv is designed for a screw that is way to small for the servo tab hole to be used straight with a washer to press down the tab but with no provision to stop any slop if the servo should be forced to move within the mount. It seems like no one uses the rubber grommet system on a heli that the servo was designed for. I feel like such an important mounting procedure is being jury-rigged and I was wondering if this is ever a problem or if there is a better solution.

The vibrations are low enough on an electric that rubber grommet mounting is not needed. Using the grommets always has the potential to cause the servo to wobble in the frame, especially with the amount of torque needed for a FBL head.

I don't use rubber grommets or the brass fitting. No issues here

I'm running the 610s and not using the grommets or sleeves. They work great. Yours will be fine.

Andy - do you have any video of you flying - this statement becomes VERY powerful once they see how you fly.

Default 6hv servos

Ok my next question is what servo arms do you use on this. The guy I bought the heli from
ANDYZBOY left the horns on the pushrods for me and said he was using Align servos. When I go to put the arms on the servos they don't slip on like I am use to with other servos. They could be forced on and then pushed in further with the screw but I am not sure this is right.
The horns are white plastic and fairly stout. What horns should I be using for ds610 servos?

Those were probably the stock Compass arms. Yes, they're tight, but the way I look at it is that you get no slop. I'm running them on my 6HV with Futaba S9452 servos (same spline as the DS610).

That would explain it. Why JR and Hitec couldn't use the Futaba spline is beyond me. Every other servo manufacturer does.

I was using 610's, those arms should definitely be the right ones.Unless I had the wrong arms on there, but they did fit on mine with little effort.

Edit: I guess I did have the wrong arms on, that was dumb...

yes they were. 630mm. They're ok. I got them from a friend to try out. They're pretty flexible.
