Default main blades for 6HV

Hi, pickup up a 6HV fbl frame + motor kit later today if all goes well, Ive been looking at blades, seems it uses a bit "odd" size blades, meaning 610-620, vs more regular style trex600 blades of 600mm or similar, I think I have some 600mm blades, how will they work? do I really need the compass or sab blades for it? If memeory serves me, I have a set of theese http://www.rc711.com/shop/rjx-600mm-...es-p-6230.html

blade grip is 12mm, with 4mm bolt on the 6hv, correct?

for servos, for my 700 I got DS610/650, but I would ideealy rather get something a bit cheaper for the compass, any tips? if all goes well, its getting a MSH brain when it comes out, will maybe test it on a tarot zyx, bx or sk720 while I wait... time will show, not really rushing it.

andersn,

It has been quite a while, but I think I used Radix 600's on my 6HV when I first got it. I have run only Compass 615's on it, since (I run the on all my 600 electrics).

As far as servos go, the DS610/650's you mentioned already are pretty inexpensive servos. The 6HV is an extremely high performance machine, and IMHO deserves the best servos and FBL unit you can install in it.

If you have more questions, please continue to post them here. You should get a lot of replies from this group!

I ran radix 600 standards on mine for a while and at ircha last year. 600mm blades work fine. But the compass 615 blades are a awesome combo, light and track good but still are quick if need too.

thanks for the replies, I got 2500, 2650, 3000, and 3300 packs for it, should be fun to see how it flies,

HV servos of a 2s would ofcourse be "the best" but... thats a lot of $$$$ in servos, and almost impossible to get 2nd hand.

How do you feel the regular flybarred 600 blades were on it? I heard its a bit unstable and very agressive ?

I got to fly the Rail 606's that I bought for about two minutes before I lost a pitch linkage and the helicopter exploded in a shower of parts from those brand new blades hitting the tail boom. I loved the way they looked, though (before the crash).

How can you get any cheaper than 610/650?
Stock Compass blades are great so far as my flying them has been…

610s are the cheapest I would go, and thats what I run on both 6 and 7. For blades right now I have the 615s on, I have a set of Edge 603 I have used too. They are both good.

The align servo combo is able to keep up with me and my 6HV

P.S. Stick to the stock 6hv blades, they are fantastic.

I'll see what my LHS can dish up, they charge around 140-150USD for the compass blades...

I was pretty happy with my Compass 615s until I put a set of Mavrikk 620 FBL wide chords on it last weekend.

Collective response seems to be crisper with the Mavs, which means I can keep it more steady in a hover and also prevent the heli from getting away from me as easily. It's hard to explain, but with the Compass blades, I got quite a bit of overshoot where I'd keep gradually feeding in collective in the opposite direction of vertical movement with little apparent effect and then at a certain point, the heli would suddenly jerk in the direction of the collective I was giving it.

There's also less blade flutter, so the heli has a more stable feel. The Mavs also hold head speed significantly better during autos, probably more due to the typical FBL blade weight distribution than anything else; I'm not sure the Compass blades are really optimally weighted for FBL.
