Question Noisy Trex 450XL and video

I have a noisy TRex450XL. I am about to start changing components but I thought I might see if anyone can identify the noise first.
I have posted a video on youtube if anyone has the time to have a listen.
I checked the motor bearing. It seems fine. I don't think it is blade noise. Can the ESC make that kind of high pitch noise?

OzyRCs Noisy Trex450XL (1 min 2 sec)

Thanks

sounds like my 450 v2 se. try it outside - non echo room, check belt tension and motor gear mesh. lube bearings etc. doesn't make much differance but it all helps.

Thanks Jim - sounds like a good place to start. I haven't lubed the bearings yet but will give it a go.
Thanks Pwoody - I bought some ear muffs last night and that seems to have fixed the problem at my end.
Cheers

LMAO joking aside and for what it's worth it didn't sound any louder than any other VID I've seen of the 450.... nevertheless I do agree they do sound louder and more intimidating indoors

Thanks Pwoody. I guess I am new and paranoid. I am going to swap the motor out today just to check. I think it can be a straight swap although my other motor is a 430 X instead of the 430 L which is on it now.
Cheers again and thanks for taking the time to have a listen.

Sounds just like my two Trex 450's. Lube bearings just as a preventative measure and fly.

I'm sure the indoor space you have there makes it sound much worse.

Thanks Flash. Now I am definitely feeling like I am paranoid.

Yep, sounds normal to me too. And the first thing I thought of was the echo from being indoors.

One question, at 48 seconds, where the heck did the heli go?

Thanks Jim. It is a heap noisyer than say my other Trex450S which I have apart at the moment but it is good to know that it is within the normal boundaries. I had visions of a bearing lockup and another crash to add to my collection.
Where did the heli go at 48 secs? - well I have ben experimenting with a new form of heli cloaking. It seems to be working though it also opens a gate to my spare parts supplier. Everytime I fly cloaked I need to order more spares as I can no longer see my heli. I guess I didn't think of that aspect when I designed my Cloaking Technology. I just hope the Wraith dont find out I have it.

The cloaking is a great technology, you just haven't APPLIED it correctly. See the other thread, about the guy who bought a new 600 but hasn't told his wife yet. The cloaking is NOT for flying, its for when you get HOME, and have to carry it into the house!!!

PS. Sounds just like mine. But then, my ears are shot. I can't hear anything high pitched. Maybe its just the head speed is higher than your other heli?

lol, yeah I wish they could come with the cloaking device already applied and the UPS guy can turn it on before he drops it off...

Yeah, I watched the video and it didn't sound any different from any other indoor 450 flight.

Thanks again guys. At least I can put that worry to rest.
Cheers

Cloaking - You are right I have not applied it right. I never thought about hiding it (or them) from the missus. Maybe I can expand that concept and hide other stuff as well. Like the new 1 TB hard drive I just bought and am hiding at work. Or the new HD cam corder I am thinking of buying. Oh man now I am thinking. A cloaked camcorder. OH yeah baby.

Your vid doesn't look too bad for a non HD cam on youtube! I just bought an HD flash video cam. It takes great video, but I am having some issues finding a way to edit the HD format files, without re encoding it, and having to step down in quality. There is no way that I can find to edit, and still retain the original quality and format!?

Oh, and your heli sounds pretty much like mine. There does seem to be a bit of rythmic chatter when you first spool up. Sounds like maybe the main gear is a bit out of round, or the gear mesh a bit tight. Also, it looked like your tail was bobbing a little, which I have heard can be caused by a tight pinion/main mesh. Might look into that!

Thanks for the comments Jimbo.
My vid was captured by a still camera with video capability. Canon S5iS. I put together using Windows movie maker. I saved in 640 * 480 in the highest mbps that my sofware (movie maker) had. All basic stuff.
Have a look at my other vid on you tube. The quality is not too bad for Youtube. The guys who have mastered the HD (or good quality) are realy putting out clear videos. I am sure you have trolled around youtube and looked at their "how I done it" vids. If you have not already try one of the Sony Vegas movie makers.
Good luck and when you work it out let me know will ya pls

Default Mental health

Who says I am paranoid. On the issue of mental health which is a good subject for anyone venturing down this RC Helicopter path I have attached my following YouTube.

If you only see a blank space above, click to the left of the blank space, I have the video cloaked.

Just for the fun of it.
