Default New furion 6 owner with questions

Hey guys proud to announce I just purchased my first min air Heli!! It's a used furion 6 frame set I got in the classifieds. I was getting ready to build a 600 pro but then the furion caught my eye and was an immediate game changer.

I have these electronics ready to go in it:
Align 600mx 510kv
Castle hv80/bec pro
Align 610/655
Ar7200bx

I am wondering witch servo horns to get as I think I recall 19-20mm ball position on cyclic.

And the landing skids are in need of replacement. So are the tuff struts worth the extra $?

Will I need servo extensions to get the servos to reach front gyro plate?

This is my first Heli with a belt and it seems that grounding won't be necessary due to carbon tail case and metal boom mounts. Correct?

Thanks in advance and my Heli will ship tommorrow and I will be waiting impatiently

Mark

You will need extensions depending on how you wire. No grounding necessary some silicone spray. Horns that come with the align servos work fine and I cant comment on tuff struts but let me know, I've broken a few original sets.
Always land soft and they will last forever

There's a BeastX on all my helis , Furion included!

Think I changed the inner swash balls to get the " blue at 6deg" function spot on , but it wasn't out far enough to worry about anyway .. I had the balls here, and must have been feeling super keen that day ...

I am thinking of running a receiver pack through the bec pro if I am running gens ace 3300 35c packs would I need to be concerned about being nose heavy with a 2 cell pack up there?

I just finished mine ,I also bought it from the forums, it was crashed and needed some work but I maidened it last weekend and everything went well, I used these servo horns http://www.secraft.net/shop/step1.php?number=1138 they are 21mm from the centre of the servo and had no problem getting blue at 6 degrees with my beast x,
flight wise , I've had 4 flights so far and the beast x is near enough sorted, some minor adjustments and it was good to go, I even set up rate mode to adjust the tail neutral and it was perfect with no adjustment, this is my first big heli and I must say it flies just as easy as my 450 but more floaty and scary sounding. all in all i'm trying to save up for more batteries its brilliant!

Also how tight should I get the belt? If its too tight will the drag be a problem?

10 to 12 degrees of pitch works for my mild flying. To tighten the belt, I've been putting the batteries in and the canopy on, dangling the bird from the tail, and tightening up the boom. This seems to be working. Having said that, I wadded up a belt with the stock front pulley running the belt fairly loose, and broke one with the speed-up pulley running the belt really tight as MA was recommending for a while. However you set it, I suggest using the new tail side plates with the idler pulley offset to the front of the rear pulley.

Got the furion yesterday stayed up all night and got her built!
Setup the beastx this afternoon and hovered it in the backyard. It had a bad vibration witch looked like gain shake but turnin down helped none then I loosened the blades up a bit helped a little but then realized I was still using default linear throttle curve and was hovering under 75%!

So after getting a better curve set she hovered real nice and intimidated the crap out of me!! But got a couple hovers on it and am pumped to see how a big bird feels in the air.

Running 2 3300 35c gens ace and a 2100 25c TP for electronics and she balanced out great. Now I need more batts

I put a new belt on and got it pretty right and with no blades on the head stops pretty quick when spun. Is that amount of drag normal for a belt? I am sure it will stretch a bit but this is my first belt.

Other than keeping good tension is there anyother maintenance? Sprays or lubes or just dry?

Thanks

Mark
