Happy to throw a couple of ideas in!
I printed all of your canopies, built two, and I really, really like them.

It's a shame you are not willing to explore the Gulf theme as it's one of my favourites of all times. Another one I lke is the Martini racing used on Lancia Deltas back in the golden days of rally, or the Marlboro mcLaren formula one.

I would be happy with everything though, I am enjoying this thread quite a lot and I am curious to see what's next!

Those look great! Interesting to see your different setups.

@craig a friend of mine also mounted his JBS canopy a little more forward to give more "crumple zone", I guess in your case this also balances out the 120 tail a bit?

@gio we share the same taste in racing liveries. Only thought that the Gulf theme was already applied on too many non- Porsche 917s, but stay tuned. Also: great shots while flying. Only managed to do some lazy loops with mine, flipping always resulted in crash so far.

Feels good to give back something to a forum which I sucked so much invaluable info from. Have a lot to do this coming week though, so an update will take a while.

Happy flying

I don't know if this has been tried yet but I just printed out a canopy on a sheet of styrene. I'm still fine tuning the process such as lowering the amount of ink used and possibly spraying the whole thing with clear coat. I put it under a hair dryer at medium heat to dry the ink faster. The styrene is about the thickness of typing paper but it is a lot tougher.

i had to move it forward for the skids and 550 battery, worked out rather well and all fits nice and snug

Here is a thought, do you have young kids, grand-kids? Print out a canopy, cut it out with a exacto, trace the pattern and have your kid crayon a canopy design.
