Well I think I'm going to give up using the switchglow with the 770 and DX7.

Nothing has worked right and its just not worth it.
going back to the good old Align 2 in 1.. and going to sell the SG and prolly the ReactorX as I dont need 140 bucks worth of regulator either.

ceeveeSiN what issue are you having with the 770? is the tail wagging? because 63 on the gyro menu is going to be either 13 or 23 on the gear channel I have not figured out if it is 50 less or 40 less on gear, but that seams to be the way it works.

you should be able to run a simple on heli reverser pluged into the SG so that the +23 gain will read as -23 and turn it of, and the -100 rate mode gain will tell the SG +100 and power it on.

I would not give up yet.

Huh? I do not follow you one bit on the reverser..
if the SG end point the minus one is indeed triggering the SG with no issues why do I want or need to reverse it?

as for the gain/end points.. well ok i was only going up and down 10 from the initial 63 as the above posts said that it should translate 1-1 on that channel.

Ok so my gain is MONSTROUSLY too high that would explain why the tail is a basket case on the ground even.

but please try to explain why I might need the reverser? I have no idea what you mean and why I would need it.
We have the SG toning only on the "rate" channel which is gear down position (-100 end point) of the switch and the gain is indeed switching to the gear up channel which had the 63+ end point in it.

as for receiver batteries I am really liking the outrage RX series you get a lot of mah for very little weight. the 2500's and 3600's work great on 50's and the 3600's and 5000's are great for 90's

sorry I saw a post a few pages back about RX packs, it was never really answered so I thought I would put in my 2c

so you are saying that the + 63 is giving you tail wag, try 25% gain and go from there, I find that JR 770's normally like 20-30 % gain. and the -100 is turning the switchglow on, ok cool, I thought the SG needed a + enpoint to trigger.

nope SG support said to put it at -100 and it sure does tone now. before I could not even get her to tone at all.

ok I'll play with the gain this weekend before i pull my hair out.
I appreciate that advice bro.
hopefully that fixes her up.

ok great if you have the SG working all you need to do is the gain, that should be an easy bit of adjusting. I haven't had a ton of experience with the JR 770, but the few I setup ended up in the 15-30% gain area.

happy to help

I just double checked to make sure I am not crazy, the SG turns on no matter what endpoint I have on the - side of gear with gear reversed. I am looking at the servo monitor screen and even at 0% endpoint with the slider in the middle of the gear channel the SG turns on, is this normal?

I do know this and it has been inconsistent at my flying field. Some swicthglo's wont turn on until well over 80% and others will turn on with just a little amount in the minus direction. Mine will turn on with a about -40 but any lower it wont or if it does it turns off and on by itself. Another local, his wont turn on until like -90!

So it seems to vary a little and it maybe due to software changes over time? Don;t know myself only that we all have noticed it.

Correct?

If so, then the mixers are keyed in wrong, somewhere. Or the gear channel is not reversed.

normal: gear in pos 0 mid left: SG off
normal: gear in pos 1 far right: SG on

idle up: gear in pos 0 farther left:SG off
idle up: gear in pos 1 center: SG on

my SG turns on anywhere from left side 25 to right side 150

maybe my SG is defective?

I just triple checked everything is keyed in right.

Sounds like the SG is different anyway. They seem to be inconsistent in the channel position(s) that activate them.

So, yes, this won't work. The mixers are built with the assumption that FAR right = ON for the SG and everything else = off.

Of course, you can still start and fly as the SG will time out. You just lose protection for hot starts in Idle Up.

so are you running the SG so it turns on on the positive side or the negative side? if you are on the + side with out reverser you could use a reverser and run it on -100 in the radio when the gyro is in rate, that should solve it if I am understanding your setup correctly

my understanding is its firing on the negative side right? if it was on the positive side it would fire if the gyro was in HH mode..

man this thing really is more trouble than its worth if you dont have a free channel.

Danal ...here I go again ....after many tries I discover that I am totally lost.....to reduce de RPM (insanes 2350 RPM) and the gyro gain ...I used a Tach today and reduces gear ATV...nothing....aux2 ATV ....nothing.....

So I come back the radio setup following your instructions again and decide to ask you :

*My DX7se, SwitchGlo, and AR71000 with RevLimit is acting normal

How can I reduce the RPM(Insane 2350)? I have to reduce the gear ATV, Aux2 ATV?? where I have to go???

How I can reduce the Gyro sensibility? I dont have the gyro menu (following your instructions Aux2 to Aux2 and Gear to Gear.)...Gyro sensibility is on Aux2 ATV?

Help me...

Can't help with your Gyro, that is totally separate.

Your headspeed in NORMAL is set with the RATE - (negative) number in PROG.MIX1. Make this number bigger (more negative) to lower speed.

Your headspeed in IDLE1 is set with the RATE - (negative) number in PROG.MIX2. Make this number bigger (more negative) to lower speed.

Your headspeed in IDLE2 is set the RATE + (positive) number in PROG.MIX3. Make this number bigger to raise speed. Due to a quirk in the DX7, this number is ADDED too the number in MIX2... so it should represent only the INCREASE in speed between MIX2 and MIX3. That is, it should be very small number, only a few percent.

you will control gyro gain simply by adjusting the positive endpoint for aux2

Thanks!! It was me asking and this is the kind of response I was hoping for. Have got a Flightpower EVO25 2500 and an evolite 3200 (but that is huge!) I will take a look at the XPRX packs as they do look a lot smaller & lighter.
