Are you sure?

The warp is 2.5 all around except for the tail, or at least mine is...

Do you have different information about this?
Several users including myself have reported link failures, including a couple crashes resulting from the links failing to grip the rod threads. My guess is they attempted to fix the link failure problem along with creating a ball end that matches what you would see from other heli manufactures, where you have some real meat on the ball end.

Your right, Warp is 2.5mm servo-swash. Maybe there just isn't room for the extra bulk of the new links on the Warp.
Just to add I really don't think the Warp or Atom need a heavier link anyways, current is plenty big.

They appear more robust. Never failed one in flight here, but simply feel the tightness when making up links. The improved links is yet another example of Compass commitment to us. Many thanks!

I was curious about the details of how they failed...?

I've occasionally had one that it too tight going on, and can imagine it could split under load. I've also drilled a pilot for them to thread in properly. I typically feel the resistance to the link cutting it's threads when I make them up, and get a sense that they are plenty tight.

Also, I have a couple of the link assembly tools which really helps.

Did yours pull out or split? Were they ones you personally assembled?

Rob, some of the newer batch ones have had to large a bore for the rod to thread tightly.
I personally had one pull threads during flight, not right out but close. On the bench I was able to push it back on as well as compress the other two swash-servo links.
Obviously did not fly it again until I replaced these links. I got another set from Jeff but they were no better so put on some Rocket City ones a bud gave me.

In the end knowing how loosely they assembled I shouldn't have trusted them or tried to make them fail on the bench but I thought 'they should be oK" and flew with them.

I did suffer a crash on another occasion due to loosing a link. It was either same scenario or was a worn one that needed replacing. That was a spooky crash, better described in this thread you've already visited..

Yes, the links are so loose on the rods that you don't have too thread them on, simply push the ball end onto the rod and it will go on without threading. Either the ball end boar is too large or the rods are too small. Funny, the 700x links I got are so dang tight I had to put them in my vise to get them to thread on, it's hard to find something that works properly in this hobby lol.

Default links

the 700 links were a pain to assemble, prob never come off and the fit on the ball links was perfect.

I also got a new swash link set from prostar and they have the new style links on them

I just got some parts from prostar and they are the new links, but will they work on my Warp and Atom?

Ah Clem showed them to me today at the HF FF. They're nice and beefy.

I will be testing a set on my Warp this week. The plastic is different, the shape of the link is different-these look very good to me!

From where we can buy those? Prostar doesn't have them.

I don't think they are for sale just yet-I believe we are very close.

The ball links are available since 3 weeks. Prostar should have them.
