Default Tachometer recommendation?

I'd like to purchase a tach, but need a recommendation. I do like high quality tools just as much as the helis themselves.

There's apps for that, too.

That Magic Mirror looks cool, but definitely a 2 man operation.

Is there a "safe" one man Tach solution? (that's accurate)

cell phone app.
Other than that the heli needs to be hovering. Airplane tachs are not very safe and not accurate cause the rotor isnt loaded

ok, one more question.

To anyone that owns a Magic Mirror, did you purchase stateside? or on eBay from China/HK? They're about $20 cheaper on eBay... thats why I ask

Followup, I ordered the magic mirror from a stateside hobby shop that I trust. It came but was really obviously used, the shop made it right and a new one is on its way.

I certainly wouldn't have gotten this kind of service from a offshore dealer. Very glad I went stateside.

yeah, they would have sent you a new one the first time.

Maybe, but the shop also gave me a $10 gift card for my trouble... good customer service goes a long way.

Only good for 2 blades unless you do the math calculations. Kind of pricey, but works from 20 feet or more even in low light conditions. I've had the old unit for 25 years, still works as good as new, but it's analog. Recently replaced with the new digital unit which is just as good, from VERY far away, and reads to the exact rpm.

An amazing unit that will last a lifetime. Built in the USA too!

My Magic Mirror was definitely not built in the US. (I would have gladly bought a US one if it had know it was available)
