I have been using revolution 520mm flybar blades lately. They are of nice quality, but they load up my head more than align blades, and are only slightly quicker off center.

I prefer align 3g right now, but if you guys need some really cheapo blades, go nitro hobbies is selling them for 29 dollars a pair on clearance right now on ebay. Not exactly for me, but worth a try IMHO.

I'm thinking of trying out Rotorstar 520. On sale in us store for 35 bucks...

I personally fly Rotortech 515's now. They are very responsive on pitch, and almost as fast as the Gaui 520's on cyclic. I'm quite happy with them, I run them on my X7 too.

I've tried Spinblades(not red or black belts) but those were nothing special.

I've tried Halo 510's, but those are incredibly slow around the center, so much that I had problems piroflipping. Of course this can be tunes out in the FBL, but they were extremely slow. Only if you stick bang they feel somewhat right, but nowhere as responsive as the Gaui or Rotortech blades.

I've also flown Rails, but don't like how they fly. They are not responsive enough on cyclic or collective.

I just tried some halo 510s. I actually really like them. They were exactly like Blade450 said, but I do stick bang, and they are very good for stick banging. I am not amazing with piroflips, but I could piroflip just fine with the halos.

The are 80g blades, and they do fly as light as they weigh.

Hi guys,

I just bought the Gaui X5 Formula basic kit which appears to come with the 82mm tail blades (plastic).

I need to choose some main blades and I was thinking the Align 520 3G Carbon Fiber Blades. Am I ok to run those with the 82mm's or do I need larger tail blades?

Those plastic blades are really floppy. I would switch to CF regardless of main blades.

Thanks. So the Gaui CF 82mm's would be fine with the 520 mains?

Yes. But I recommend switch/edge 86s or align 85s. They hold a bit better although the gauis worked alright for me too with align 520s.

There's no chance of the 520 mains touching the 85's even with the Formula head?

Not even close. There's like an 8mm gap if you bend it really really really hard and turned the head to get the closest possible angle.

Thank-you sir! I went with the Align 520's and the 85's.

I got some Dt 520mm blades. They are 84g per blade which is lighter than the gaui v3s. They are crazy responsive. Worth a try for 50 bucks.

I fly 523's with the formula head and 85 mm tails and no issues.

I started flying the X5 with Rail 516. I loved flying them. I had to replace them. I had a set of Gaui 520. I don't like them as well. The don't auto as well as the Rail 516. I The Gaui are too fast around center and they don't handle fast flight as well. The are only good for smack. I am going back to the Rail 516 as I love autos and a mix of smack and big air flying.

My 2 cents
