Default Installing align magnets in clutch bell - first time

Guy's this is the first time I have done this. What is the best way? What glue works best - epoxy or JB weld?

Any help would be appreciated.

Definitely epoxy is recommended. As far as I know JB weld is epoxy too.
There is a trick to make it good. You drill a 1 mm hole on the bottom of the seat. The air will be pushed through it and the resin will fill the gap properly.
Those magnets flew off on me a couple of times before the trick. Never happened since I did it.

If you don't use the above trick of drilling a hole, the magnets will want to pop out on you after inserting them into their slots especially with the epoxy in there.

I used JB weld for mine. Didn't drill any holes. If doing it this way you need two good clamps that will nicely hold the magnets in there. Holding them with your fingers is no good. I clamped mine and left the clutch bell overnight for the epoxy to fully cure.

The best way is indeed to drill 1mm holes - that way when you seat the magnets in with the epoxy, they will push the air bubble out and won't fight you trying to pop out.

The other thing that is absolutely essential is that one magnet has to be positive side up, and the other negative side up. If this is not done, they will not work.

The way I assure this is with a magnetic compass. If you hold the compass near a magnet it will point either north or south. If north, then the other one should point south. Then mark them, then glue them.

Or just stick the magnets together and mark the outside of each.

Yep.
I use a red or black Sharpie.

Color the sides facing out after you stick the two magnets together.

Then insert them in the clutch bell / flywheel with the colored sides facing out.

That is unless using a Spirit fbl gov. Latest recommendation is both magnets +ve side up.
