Default Tarot 250/SE TT Gear Box MS25110-05

Hi guys, I was just browsing around this morning, and I stumbled onto a Tarot 250/SE Complete Torque Tube Tail Gear Box MS25110-05. I didn't know such a part was even available anymore.

Has anyone tried using this in the Align 250 DFC Pro to cure the stripping TT problem? I have a 250 DFC Pro kit ready to be assembled, but I lose motivation when I think about all the problems others have had with the front TT gears.

I haven't had the stripping problems recently because I've been lucky enough not to drive it in, but that does look cool.

I wonder if it needs to rest against a belted tail - tail box? You would still need something to clamp the boom to the frame.

I think it is similar to the CopterX 250 belt drive gear--it bolts into the frame directly in front of the boom mount. It does look stronger than the Align TT part, so I was just wondering about experiences.

Say, are these the TT gears you're using: M0.4 Torque Tube Front Drive Gear Set/28T H25G001XX

Also, did you glue the front gear and all that?

Thanks for your help.

Looks like the same ones - I get them at HeliDirect:
http://www.helidirect.com/align-m0-4...t-rex-250.html

If they twist and the I haven't damaged the gear teeth, I JB Weld them back on by putting the epoxy inside the gear and sliding it on the shaft. But I've been pretty lucky with the torque tube gears this summer. Servos, that's been a problem, but not the gears.

I see, so you only JB Weld after something has loosened them up. I have read many horror stories about the TT slipping on the shaft while the heli is flying. Maybe that was the case with the original white gears, but not so with the newer black gears?
