Default Invert-itis

I recently picked up a brushless mcpx and a flight sim after a long 4 year break in the hobby.
My goal this summer is to learn inverted flying on this heli.
After just a week on the sim I can hold inverted for as long as I want but am finding I am starting to confuse my upright inputs.
Any suggestions to help this or will it just all fall into place after a while?

Thanks
Chads

Practice, practice and practice somemore. There are a couple of tips floating around, like watching the tail motor and not the whole heli while inverted tail in and starting out hovering nose-in because its the easiest too learn and dont hover totally sideways, just angle in slightly to start with and go to neg pitch immedatily after flipping bird. The list goes on but these are some key points that have helped me. Your gonna have to put ur time in, no way around that one. Keep it up and it will click. Have fun!

Yep, just more practice and you will be flying inverted in your sleep. I use to think it was hard too, but now it's incredibly easy. Then you will have to move on to harder stuff, like flying inverted backwards and piro flips.

I'd also practice on the simulator flying inverted but switching to the side, then the other side, then tail in, then nose in, then do piros inverted, do not get stuck on one item, keep your brain moving all the time.

Why does everyone say to practice inverted nose in? Left/right directions are reversed but forward back would be the same. Tail in would be the opposite of that. How is this easier?

You will understand when it hits... It's like tail in is easier at first.
Once you start learning to slow piro flip you get used to all angles

Choco I wondered the same thing. Always though rolling over was easier so thought I should learn tail-in first. It seems easier on paper but in reality it's so much easier to flip and learn nose in first.

Yup..me too

I'm finding that I can't just practice inverted all day, I need to alternate

It's really surprising how difficult upright tail-in can be after a long session practicing inverted

The brain works in funny ways. I've noticed that alot of my orientations are based on how i transition to them. eg. If i flip over forwards, I'm nose in inverted and everything is good. If i roll over sideways then do a 180 piro, I'm still nose-in inverted but flying isn't as easy for the first few seconds till my brain realises what does what.
