I've been looking at the CF frame options for this heli as well. I was about to go try out the Lynx frame stiffeners but I might just wait to see if Lynx comes through with more stock on these frames. I'd like to try one if they ever show up back in stock...

The Lynx frame is cool if you already have a 450X and just want to upgrade to a frame that is easier to work on with a better servo arrangement. But it's also a lot more expensive to crash if you do manage to go in hard enough to damage the frame. While I love mine and can't imagine ever using the stock frame again, I've also learned my lesson that next time I'll just buy a decent heli with a quality frame to begin with. Since Blade doesn't offer any "airframe only" kits it won't be a Blade.

What's not decent about the carbon/aluminum 360CFX frame? A decent frame doesn't necessarily automatically mean a real kit. The 180CFX frame, which is the same style is pretty good, too. Same probably goes for the 300CFX, but I don't have one of those. Shouldn't be any different than the other CFX style helis, though. Even the micro bearings, which usually suck from Blade, have been pretty good in my 180CFX.

Would the 300CFX frame work on the 450X? I mean if anything you can probably always buy the 360 frame parts. I do understand what you're saying Nelsonisms about buying a better heli next time. I guess if blade discontinues parts for the 450X i'll probably get a Trex 450l but I'm not to sure on how good it really is.

Oh yea! I forgot about the new tail belt design I'm also not a big fan of Blade's new carbon frame design. It looks fine on the 180 but for some reason it looks weird when you make it bigger.

I don't know why it would look weird. I think it looks cool and it's easy to work on. Other helis have a similar servo arrangement, too. It works.

If they offered the 360CFX as an airframe without the electronics I might consider it, but otherwise I have zero interest. Not when other heli manufacturers get this and offer airframe kits at reasonable prices.

I've been lurking a bit and reading about how folks like the stiffer CF frame when they try one.
I've not read a whole lot about the CF frame stiffener plate (LX0774) that can be applied to the existing plastic frame. If the CF frame doesn't emerge, would the CF frame stiffener plate be a good second choice?

Yeah Ok, but I already read what you posted before you changed it. I'm not fooled.

Then I'll put it back because I didn't think the details were important. My old account got jacked up along with some others from what Will called a "security upgrade" around the time RCG bought the forum. That's what he said when he and I talked on the phone and this is his fix. That's it. Nothing nefarious going on and nobody else has to be "fooled". As far as things go on that issue, it still stands. Think whatever you want. Now, back to the 450X.
