Anyone tried one of these? I'm thinking about doing the RNFBL and need a controller, and I'm intrigued by its bailout feature.

I have not tried them but it looks a bit better to look at the Spirit FBL as they have more features, newer sensors and lower price.

I've just started reading the Spirit threads. I have to say, it's pretty impressive. I'll keep reading, but it seems like a winner.

I have both BD3SX (5) and Spirit (1) and I like both units .

MD8, MD7, E640, Protos500 and Chase360 with BD3SX
Warp360 with Spirit.

Its not really a fair test because I should swap the Spirit on to a machine I currently have a BD3SX, but my impressions are:

The I'd rate the Spirit a shade easier to tune and it has great flight characteristics but the rescue function (on my unit) is not as good as the the BD3SX.

I'd also say the hardware of BD3SX is about maxed out, while the hardware of the Spirit is based on newer chips and its software can be extended over time.

BD3SX has served me well for two years and >900 flights, while I have only logged about 30 flights on the Spirit. I don't think you could go wrong with either unit... I've no regrets with them.
