Default Change to slant gear?

If I wanted to change to a slant main gear setup which pinion would I run?

I run a 16 tooth now strait cut. Sometimes I run a 13 tooth If i'm feeling like slow flying

Curious what the craze is, just a quieter drivetrain?

stock is 12t pinion with 1600kv and is capable of producing over 3000+ HS ungoverned

lynx makes a 13t and 14t pinions for a higher governed HS

also I think slant gears might be stronger

Slant gears are generally quieter and stronger.

I don't use them so I can't help with the pinion tooth count. I assume if the tooth count on the main is the same as the one being replaced, your pinion tooth count would remain the same too.

The slant gear and straight cut are different tooth counts. The straight is 162 and the slant is 134T. I won't use slant gears unless it has the 3rd bearing block for the motor. They are harder on your motor bearings. If you are running the non-pro version, the max would be a 12T pinion. It would still be on the high side with an ungoverened 2863 head speed. Governed would bring it down a bit.
