Default 600 fbl head fit the 550?

I've got an fbl head off of my 600 (align). Are they the same as the 550 fbl head? I'm thinking about just buying the flybar version cause its cheaper and just use the head that I already have. I know a lot of the parts are the same but don't know if I'm on the right path.

It will work fine. I'm using le 600 fbl head. The 550 head is just machined differently to shed weight.

Same here - I've just bought a 600 FBL head with swash and main shaft finished in silver. The main shaft is considerably longer than the 550 FBL shaft, so I'm assuming that it is a FB shaft (no problem) but I am also not sure about swoping out the balls on the swash, size-wise they are also different.

I haven't looked at the manual yet, just saw this thread and thought I'd ask for opinions.

I was going to put a 600 silver head on mine but the 550 head is definitely lighter and less bulky.

I agree, but I went with the 600 LE fbl grips and KDE head block with a I2 R2 swash. I love the way it looks. I might have to cut the main shaft down. I think it would look a lot nicer with everything snugged down:

I have the KDE headblock, its definitely nice and makes life easier with the integrated swash.
