Default Kit

I want to build my own Transmitter , Why has this market gone away? It was good enough for granddaddy it would be good enough for me.

I went to a buddy's house the AM he had a new in box heath kit kit transmitter! ( he is not a good friend or he would have handed it over) I want to build my own 2.4 setup, Spektrum should do a kit even if it is of one of there lower end models. Imagine the money you could save buy not paying a good Asian fellow to do the assembly!

THIS is not a Joke I want a do it your self Transmitter!

Not enough market demand I imagine. It would be really fun.

Transmitters have gone from very basic radios to spread spectrum computerised devices.
The Heathkit stuff was awesome (I still have one of their 'scopes) but the average human had an idea of how they worked and how to troubleshoot them.
Nowadays with IC, most people wouldn't have a clue and all you would be doing would be assembling it, not building.
