Blade Color

Hi Guys
Been always curious as to why rotor blades are generally all white color base. I've a set of black color blades & I really don't see much difference
in flight as compared to white blades

Black rotor blades tend to be less visible than ones with white on them. I'm not sure why as it seems counter intuitive that on a light blue or white sky that you'd be able to see black better, but I think it has to do with white's ability to reflect light and black absorbs it. Having both seems to be best though.

That being said, I've never had better visibility than with KBDD orange blades. I think that they're cursed for me because I've never had a set longer than 10 flights because of a crash. That has never had anything to do with the blades, just bad luck on my part.

+1 on the higher visibility of KBDD orange blades. I have two X3s, one with KBDD (orange underside) and another with RJXs (all white underside). I flew them alternatingly the other weekend practicing funnels... The X3 with KBDDs are more visible making it easier to see the disc.

I find the yellow tipped Rotor-Tech blades show up very well in all types of light.

thanks guys me I would prefer just the tip 2 different color between
top & bottom. Camera shot shows color clearly cause camera's
vision is always tip top condition. Me Im an old fart so vision quality
is in question. lol

Seeing the KBDD neon colored blades in person is a whole different experience in flight. You can definitely tell orientation just by the blades. Solid neon color on the bottom and White and black on top with the same color striping as the bottom.

Underside of the disc is solid color, top of the disc is easy to tell the difference. My eyesight is horrendous, and I see these just fine in any condition. If I fly without a canopy, the blades really help. Very good on overcast days as well.

Definitely agree. The KBDD's bright colors make orientation MUCH easier. You are able to fly the disc more as you can actually see it, and this helps in all aspects of flying. Can see them on pretty much any background too.

KBDD blades definitely have visibility going for them, especially in overcast conditions. For white or black blades having both colors on there makes it pretty easy for me to see the disk in most instances anyways however (Rotortechs, Rails, RJX Energy's).

I feel they use white because it tends to be more visible in more situations vs predominantly black blades (eg dark/tree filled background, overcast days they have an edge imo).

Thanks for your views . Strangely my vision has changed over the years.
At one time the Yellow Goblin was best for me but for the life of me dont
know what happen I can no longer see this color clearly anymore. Whats
clear to me now is Bright Orange & Goblin Red

I just wish KBDD would come out with some new sizes. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that they bought the Mavrick blade molds and then made then their own with weighting and colors.

I'd love it if they released some new sizes like 380. I've asked on their main forum, but no response.
