Tail gyro problem - no response
Did a full cnc swap out and I'm setting this all up. Also changed my gyro to esky's HH - 0704a gyro.
Got everything installed, main blades balanced and tracking nicely. But my tail has zero response. I should get tail blade movement even at a stand still. I spooled up until it was starting to get light on the skids and still no movement from the gyro. I've disassembled the tail, took an emery cloth to the tail shaft and polished it. Re-assembled, checked for binding everywhere along the route, put a tad of lithium grease pencil on he guides for the tail rod. Rechecked and its very smooth with no real noticable binding or stickiness anywhere. Gyro is plugged into channel 4 and the single HH wire from the gyro is in channel 5, just like the book says so. When I plug the bat in the gyro beeps once then the led changes to blue after about 5 seconds and holds blue. OOppss the esc is the one beeping. Anyway I get zero responce from the gyro... tail blades don't move an umpteenth of a millimeter and I cant see any activity from the servo at all... its not even trying. So... what could be the problem as I tink I've checked everything I know of. Any suggestions?? Thx PS... Got it figured out. I checked the servos they were ok... moved the gain a curly hair and decided to check the response from the TX again just to be sure. Lo and behold the servo's reacted fully. Total surprise. Thinking maybe it was stuck in a dead spot or something??? And when I moved the gain it freed it?? Anyway.. it be working now. Thx anyway |

Well the only thing it could have been is that maybe it wasn't in all the way but when I go around and make checks I always give them all a push in, gyro plug too. Its when I check all the screws, links etc I check the plugs as well. But it could be like what happens to ur bro... Unplugging it perhaps resets it somehow??? But you'd think that plugging in the bats a few times would do the same thing no??
Anyrate its working good. Just fine tuning everything. I'm working on getting a left sideways drift out and the tail wants to turn slowly to the left. So I'm sslllooowwwwlly moving one thing at a time. I'm gonna get that hands free hover. |
