Default Walkera Devo 8 TX

Maybe a new alternative TX. I guess we have to wait for reliability reviews. The Price should be around $400 as the 12 channel version of this radio can be had for $500.
  • Color Touch Screen
  • Quad bearing sticks
  • Rubber grips
  • 7 point curves
  • USB for online updates
  • Wireless data transfer between TXs
  • Modes 1-4

And the idiots still cannot get the idle up and hold on the right side.

One thing i learned from walkera is some day some time (maybe not right away) some stupid quirky crap will bite you in the bum!!!

There is always something dodgy or half done that they do.

Eg the first 2801 users that bought it were told it will work on any walkera 2.4, but there has been about 3 revisions and only the latest works on ALL walkeras.

$100 is all its worth

Hate Walkera just because it's Walkera!

Be part of the in crowd! Hate Walkera!

The WK2801-Pro is a great radio. And we have so many of them in use, and you'd think by now we'd have a problem.

Then again, we haven't really had a problem with the Spektrums.

Or the Futabas.

Or even the Racons.

Huh. Here's an idea. Stop with the anecdotes. I think I'll buy this radio just to dare to not be exactly like this crew.

I just Googled it and I must say, it looks VERY 'plasticky'.

Specs on the other hand look quite good.

EDIT: Did you just insert those images? They didn't appear the first time.

I've used the 2801 Pro and liked it very much. I found it very easy to use and the sticks felt perfect on it.

My 2801 Pro's have been fantastic, my daughter flies her micro's, 250, and 450 with her 2801 pro with zero problems.

Given all the DSM2/X issues, and over priced chinese plastic cheap feeling raidios from specktrum; This new line from Walkera may be a good thing. I mean seriously the dx6i, new dx7 and the dx8 are cheapo feeling. and I know for a fact they don't have quad bearings on the sticks. (old dx7 might). Hell the dx6 and dx7 don't even have a backlight!?

Hopefully they will add more recivers to the line up, that is my ONLY complaint about my walkera radios is they don't offer a few diffrent RX's.

PS. I heard the street price for the 8 channel would be about $320.

I don't get comments like this.

Granted I don't own any super highend birds or anything, but I own align, blade/eflite, and Walkera helicopters, and I just don't get it. My 4g6, v120d02's and other Walkera's have been head and shoulders better than all of my blade/eflite heli's in both performance and quality. All of my eflite/blade helicopters, to include the mcpx, are cheaply made pieces of crap with short lived crap servos, flaky electronics, and parts that are just stupid expensive. How are they better than walkera? I learned to fly on my walkera 4g6. It has been driven into the dirt hundreds of times. She is still flying great, and I have only ever replaced some gears, shafts, and blades.

If you look at the 300 class blades and compair them to the 250 class Walkera's, or the 450 class walkera's compaired to the blade 400/450 the Walkeras are FAR FAR better made.

So yes, while they are a budget brand of helicopter, they by far the best of the budget brands, and are almost as nice as my Align's...

Both of my 2801 pro's have been just as good, if not better than my DX7. The software is better and easier to use, the LCD is better and the quaility of the radio's is the same, and In fact compared to the dx6i, and the DX8, I would have to say that the 2801pro's are better.

If fact my 450Pro with a walkera 2801pro out ranges my 450Pro with twin sats and my DX7 by about 100ft....

If you want to fly your machines with that, go for it. I personally don't trust flying my stuff with anything other than Futaba, JR, Airtronics, or Hitec. Just my opinion

Seems like there would be a better name than "Devention". The name makes me think of the oposite of "Invention". Probably not the thought you want to convey as a technology product.

I own a couple of Walkeras, for the money they're not bad, but I won't be owning any more. I do think if you're on a tight budget the 2801 is hard to beat.

Where I fly 90% uses specktrum and dx6

I use 2801 pro

Every single weekend i saw two or 3 crashes and I hear same complain: "i lost signal".

I have never lost any signal in helis or planes. All of them using walkera 2801 tx and rx

I will keep my walkera radio, it is reliable.

Keep your specktrum and be happy.

ROFL.

At our club 90% or more fly spektrum, never ever had signal loss.

But plenty of crash from bad power supply system or crappy building!

Walkera has a bad name with many...I am sure that some are exaggerating and also that some are speaking the truth.

My own personal experience with Walkera helis is that they are poorly designed and poorly fabricated. This was based on the 4G3 and the 4G6 which were money pits that rarely flew right and when they did fly right they were totalled by one or two hard crashes.

The mcpx has some minor flaws but IMO it was way better than either of these Walkera birds from day one. The same cannot be said for some earlier eflite helis...the CP pro comes to mind!

Align vs Walkera...not even worth the comparison...build a big Walkera 600 sized ( if such exists) and run away fast when it spools up would be my advice.

Maybe their tx is better ...I hope so.

Sorry to be so negative, but once burned twice shy applies here.
