I read on the HW site to use fixed wing because the bugs haven't been fixed yet but that was back in 2015. I just uploaded the newest firmware and still seeing if this is true to load fixed wing. I will be using the vbar neo gov with vcontrol...

"Please don't select "Heli (Linear Throttle)" flight mode for external governor. In this mode the ESC still has some control to the start-up RPM and the throttle response, so the ESC may cause some conflicts with the flybarless controller."

Exactly that. When I was flying with Heli linear and external gov the Heli bogged a tiny bit during collective changes. Changed it to airplane mode and it stopped.

However I do get a 15-20 degree tail kick on spool up. Can't have it all but it's ok

If you pre-spin the blades by hand, then the tail kick will not be eliminated?

Yea it probably would but I haven't tried it to be fair.

Also I usually take a few moments to step back from the Heli, take a few deep breaths and relax before starting to spool up so the blades would probably be stopped by then even if I spun them by hand

It doesn't bother me as much as I'm flying off grass and the blades are tight in their holders so they don't fold with the kick. That being said I did loose two skid bolts because the jolt worked them loose over time and I hadn't noticed in my preflight checks. I've replaced and added a bit more locktite to keep them in place now

I don't like it with vbar gov, rpm changing all the time. Neo on 6.2 pro.
