Default Atom 500 FBL

I finally got my Atom in the air. I only have two batteries for it for now, but it was awesome. This thing flies great! It is going to become my main bird. It's easier to see than the MT, it's very stable, and it's not quite as intimidating as the 550!

Whoooo--Hooooo. Sorry for you guys in the cold. It got up into the eighties at my place yesterday.

Happy Flying!

Great Tam!
What flybarless unit are you using? BeastX? I would really like to get a 500. Maybe this spring. Did you get it new and build it?
Unbelievable day today, almost 60 degrees! This can't be Illinois. But who knows what tomorrow will bring....Living in this area is always interesting.

I got the Atom used but I was having issues with it flipping over to the left. I broke a tail boom, blades, tail blades, stripped a servo, broke some servo horns, etc. I put it back together and one of my buddies and I researched if other people were having similar issues and if so what was the fix. We found some people changed to a different 3m tape to mount the beastX (yup, that's what I'm using) and some people had issues with static on the belt causing the servos to twitch. So, after I got her back together we used the 3m tape and also grounded the boom. Now she is flying like a dream! The tail sure is put together different from what I'm used to and the manual isn't much help because the Atom comes with a lot of the bird already built. I finally figured it out though.

I got the Atom to use as my main heli because it is easier to see, it is more stable, and in think it will withstand crashes better than the MT. I'll let you know how it goes. I just ordered a couple of more batteries

Glad to see you are having some mild weather out there.

If you think it flies good now, wait until you get the 550 stretch kit. It floats beautifully.

none of those float anything like a 700. Trust me those will float all day if you do it right. Of course, crashes really hurt, but i really try not to crash.
