JLog 2.6 logging output from Powerbox GPS II?
Can the JLog 2.6 log the speed and altitude output from the PowerBox (Doppler) GPS II? The GPS supports FASSTest, HoTT, Jeti EX, M-Link, JR DMSS (soon) telemetry protocols.
We speed trial guys are looking for a doppler GPS that can log speed and altitude. |

Hmm..
JLog supports the Prandtl probe (pitot) #2560 from SM, look. (speed, no altitude) In the past JLog2 had also supported the SM GPS Logger. GPS Logger as Multiplex (MSB) sensor and JLog emulates the receiver and reads speed and altitude from the interconnection, puts it in his log and into the telemetries. I even had a special firmware for JLog2 which has been used by me to calibrate the pitot tube #2560 against the GPS speed as reference: yellow==pitot, red==GPS (pitot tube on the side mirror of my car, driving through Berlin, then highway (120 kph speed limit ) and vice versa on my way company<-->home, some stops at traffic lights) I then abandoned the support for that because of lack of memory and growing other functionality. Same principle applied to read data from an ESC Graupner/SJ BLC+T (is a HoTT telemetry sensor) and JETI MEZON (is a JETI telemetry sensor). That said it would be no problem to read the mentioned Powerbox GPS II via one of the telemetry protocols supported by it. As always: everything is not a question of how than of when and of the current priorities a have to maintain for my development projects. So the answer is: yes, principally no problem, let's see when and with which GPS sensor...

Tom,
I am very interested in this too. I have the powerbox gps II sensor and it works great, with the jlog 2.5. Now can you tell me how to configure if possible to log speed only???

Currently there is no (more) support for that in JLog's firmwares.
Because of lack of ROM/RAM with JLog2.x it w'd multiply the number of firmwares and make it a bit confusing for users: If we decide to generally run JLog as busmaster in a telemetry protocol supported by a GPS device - then we'd get lost of some data sent by the GPS thing because JLog w'd read only few data items as speed and altitude. If we opt for the sniffering variant - GPS device as sensor directly connected to a telemetry - we will need as many firmwares as telemetries. Some of them are expensive to implement for a sniffer, especially s.bus2 (Futaba).
