Default PWM Rate For 600L

I have 600L with a Castle Edge 80HV ESC and the 750MX (530KV) motor. What's the best PWM mode setting I should use? Outrunner mode, 8, 10? I'm not a 3D flyer, am just a hoverer, easy still learning heli pilot.

Today it was 90F out and when the heli came down the motor was about 120F and the ESC was 141F. Currently it us in Outrunner mode.

I think its pretty common and widely accepted that Align motors work best at 12 pwm. This may be because Dino from Align had stated that they are designed for that pulse width modulation.

Either way, I think it works best there. There are some who believe that Outrunner mode can cause the notorious CC ESC fire. I haven't read or heard of any Edge Controllers starting on fire though. That may have been a thing from the past series ESC's.

Thanks, I'll set it to 12 PWM.

What timing is everyone using with the CC HV's and the 600mx ~ 750mx motors??

I have the 750mx and compared logs with 0 timing, 5 timing, and 10 degrees timing.

On the 600 airframe, the 750mx makes the the biggest broadest power band on 0 timing. You'll probably see 12* recommended for the 700 but that rotor disc is nearly 8 inches bigger. So they numbers do not translate.

FWIW, Align recommends 0-5 timing on their motors for maximum torque.

Update: I tried 8 pwm today and though it certainly reduced the ESC temps a lot, it lost a lot of power and response too. The helicopter felt slow to build power and was much weaker in big air power loops.
