[SOLVED - Maybe] Wobble + Tail Drift
I have a Mini Titan e325s FBL with the GT5.1 with Savox 0257MG servos
When in hover, the tail wags around and the tail also want to move left. I have the d-sense on the tail set to 0 and was wondering if anybody knew about this and how to resolve it. Any help would be much appreciated Last edited by linelaps; 12-08-2013 at 11:39 AM.. Reason: Solved the Problem |

Took everything apart to just the bare frame, built the heli back up so it was in perfect mechanical order, adjusted swash and head so it moves up and down evenly (Had to use sub-trims in gt5.1, not dx6i
Set all the linkages properly, balanced heli so it has a good cg. Unfortunately I dont have a swash levelling tool, so hopefully my eyeballing is alright. Spooled the heli up to full throttle with no main or tail blades, to check for vibrations and what not. (Put a small coin on different parts of the heli for checking). Pleased to report that there was no vibrations. For the gyro - Got Gary Wrights own write up - Read it about 50 times Mostly had all the gt5.1 settings ok, as the default. Chucked main and tail blades on and hovered it about 2m above the ground. Still some little vibrations and drift. I think I found the problem, I am using Fibreglass $5 blades that are most likely not balanced, and have small chips from landing on the gravel. The tail blads looked like I had just mowed the lawn, and also had small chips. So I am ordering some main and tails, I think I have decided on Rotortech 320mm for the mains and Rotortech 57mm for the tail (I know they are slightly shorter), if anyone tells me otherwise to get different blades??? |

If you have the vibration filter all the way up, then I'd increase the deadband on both the sensor and the tail. They're really low as default.

Yep ill try that today thanks. Also last night I stripped 1 or 2 teeth on the main gear and I have ordered another in, can I still fly while waiting for the partsw? And another thing, I have some standard size servos at home - Hitec HS-605MG, Airtronics 94102, and a Victory Hawk 3810 that I might try on the rudder, does anyone think this will work???
