Default Servo problem or beast x problem

So I was flying today, going from FFF to a hover, and my 450x decided to nose down and fly straight into the ground. I was able to hit throttle hold, but still have a lot of damage. When I walked up to the pile of heli parts in the field, the front of the elevator servo was ripped off and the gears inside were spinning continuously. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it, and the servo gears started to continuously spin again with no TX input. I've looked for someone else having this same problem, but I can't find anyone with a similar occurrence. Does anybody have any input as to whether this sounds like a problem with the servo(hitec 5065mg), or the AR7200bx?

Depending on the orientation of Beastx wouldn't the servo be moving trying to correct itself? Only one way to find out is to rebuild I guess.

If the pot is somehow disconnected, the servo will keep trying to move to where it thinks it is being told to go. But with no pot, there is no actual read back of position.

Servo is toast.

You can always plug another servo into that channel, I am sure the new one will behave just fine.

I had a problem with my AR7200BX which would sometimes tilt the swash back or forward - it was intermittant but on my last flight the heli was virtually uncontrolable. After a min into flight the heli wanted to go backwards. I held with full forward elevator to keep it level then the beastx angled the swash fully forward and nosedived the heli into the ground. I sent the unit to Horizon in England and they sent me a new one. Might be a good idea when you rebuild the heli to initailise the heli as normal. Leave TH on and leave the heli armed for a few mins to see what happens to the swash, If the elevator servo starts lowering or lifting the front of the swash it is a beastx problem.

I'd definitely guess it's a problem with the servo before I would the AR7200BX. Hitecs are usually pretty good but problems are not unheard of. I don't think I've ever had a brand of servos where one out of a handful didn't eventually develop some kind of problem with the pots.

I'm sure it's possible for an AR7200BX to go bad, but generally if it's causing the swashplate to tilt unintentionally it has something to do with extreme mechanical vibrations on the heli given that all the servos are in perfect working order.

So I'd look into those items in that order before I'd starting thinking I need a new flybarless system.

Thanks for the replies guys. I went and bought a new servo today, and it works just fine. I think the problem was that I had the old elevator servo jammed into the slot. I removed some material from the frame and slotted the holes on the mounting tabs on the servo. Now the servo rests in there nice and there isn't any tension on it. Hopefully this one last a little longer than the last one.
