Default Protos CF Build Issue

I'm working on the tail, and had a problem inserting the 1.5x12 pin in the tail shaft. The fit wasn't good, and it required excessive force to press it through the hole. The amount of force required eventually snapped the pin even though I was applying all the force vertically. In the build videos Bob was able able to press the pin in with his hands, so there must be some tolerance issue with the pin or shaft.

Anyone else have this issue?

I've contacted ReadyHeli. Hopefully they will will send me the replacement parts.

I had a hard time pressing it in by hand. I think I finally rigged a vice to press it in somehow.

Tail boom I had the same problem. Snapped the pin. So frustrating.

Geez ...

I also had to use a good-sized hammer to drive that pin through.

Thanks for the heads-up folks

Frank
P.S.: How exactly do you guys use a vise for that?

On my second try with a new tail shaft, I used a small vice with a thick piece of metal with a small hole. It was very easy to press in this way. The hole on the shaft lines up with the hole on the metal plate.

Mine was tough to get in but I don't know if it was as difficult as yours. I used my ball link pliers and put the pin in cup that is used to push the ball out of a link, and the other end was the fork, and i just gently applied more and more pressure (it did take a lot of pressure in the end) until it went all the way in.
