First flight with this motor was pretty sweet. It's hard to tell when the extra power actually gets used. I just did some quick high speed passes it sound smoth and came down failed cool but did use up more lipo than usual. I will be testing harder later today.

Did you try extra RPM or pitch?
I am thinking of setting one of my TDR as dedicated speed machine |

I got mine, number 14!
Winding very nice (just as in previous pics), i put a little loctite on the bearings, made the flat spot longer and trimmed the shaft. Time to go flying tommorow! |

I am afraid it sometimes do touch.
The middle scar is from bearing block (fixed in 2011 version).

Ok so I did some high speed run with the SE Scorpion I did not change anything as far as TC or pitch from the Pyro 700-52. The headspeed was roughly the same 1950 and the pitch was 13 deg. I did not get much more speed which will lead up to my next question. Whats the type of setup people are running for top speed FF I have heard anywhere from 13 to 18 degs. of pitch and up to 2200 rpm. My setup now is good for 3d and to mess around with high speed passes so far we have hit 137 on the air speed indicator and 139 on the GPS. Also what blades are best for this type of fast flight. I do realize it will be a completely different setup than what I have now but I would like to try some aggressive setups for top speed to see what I can get. BTW don't to 3d flying when you have all of the eagle tree crap velcoed on your heli. I lost the gps indicator into the rotor and the battery I was powering the Eagle Tree with went into my brand new motor it scratched up the World Speed Record Logo.

I did a few flights today, run upto 2050RPM on 14T pinion.
To get top peak speed is pretty easy, just have good eyes and climb high! For fast FFF you really need to dedicate a machine for this. I tried bank switching but you really need dedicated blades (FBL Radix as they are heavier), 15 or 16T pinion, good lipos, good fingers and eyes LOL and good servos+adjust head to get more + pitch (you loose - pitch). |

#02 for TDR #2.... Now where did I put that unopened kit?
Does anyone have a spare Croco Fence they want to sell or want to go in on a purchase of several to spread the shipping cost to the US?

Are you talking about the cooling fin for the motor?

Count me in for one Croco Fence if we can get a group order for them. In my last e-mail exchange with the person who makes them, it would cost about $80 USD to ship 1 -- and up to 10 Croco Fences -- to the US. Not that $80 is going to break anyone's bank here, but I hate it when it shipping costs are higher than the product price.

I did this for the australians, bought about 10 of them i think.
Flew my 4530LE motor today, temps seem about the same as the 4525LE. I did not get any rubbing on the can, used washers for the motor mount bolts from radix tail blade spacers LOL, i think that helps keep the frame from flexing. I used the 14T and 1950RPM, flight times dropped to 4 mins! Motor pulls very hard! A little harder than the 4525LE but they are both great. |

I believe the mounting holes in the Croco Fence are the same as the OEM motor plate and also holes added for cooling (air flow from the motor)
Can someone who owns one verify this? So maybe 3 then so far.

The croco fence can be ordered for 30MM or 25MM spacing, the TDR most motors used (including LE) is 30MM.
I doubt you could fit it easily in other helis |

Guys,
I got mine sent by a German friend. A small package called "Maxi Brief" which can be 90 cm (length, width and depth combined) costs 7 Euro to the US. Can be up to 1000 Grams (1Kilogram). If you all have your dugs in a row and are ready to order at Stefan, he can send the Crocofences to my friend, which can send them for 7 Euros to the US.. . If that helps.
