Default NX #2 rises up ...

... from the collection of spare parts I've acquired from four different pilots and their helis - thanks guys!

Only missing two parts - one gray ball link for the tail servo and one canopy grommet.

I'm planning on running her on 4S, with a 1300kV motor at 1800 RPM. I've got lots of pinions to choose from: 8,9,10,11,12 & 13. Just need 4 servos, an ESC and a couple of 4S 5000mAh Lipos ...

I've found that I can make a little change to make the tail a little more visible.

It's a Fusono tail fin set for a Trex 600 that I've drilled new 1/8" mounting holes in to match the originals.
I think it will make a smart visual change to the heli and help with orientation and tail durability.

Just FG, but for $5 or so, I thought I'd give it a shot.

Late afternoon flight - Flight 31 with metal tailcase and Edge tail blades. Very clear day with low puffy clouds. Wind 10-15mph. Great day for a flight

Still need ESC/BEC and tail servo for 2nd NX. Century 800kV motor on the way

Sorry if you've answered this already. What camera are you using on the heli?

Hey Grok,

It's one of those #11 Car Keys HD DVRs I picked up on Ebay (1280x720 30fps). I stick it to the bottom of the canopy with generous amounts of sticky fun-tack. I believe it's been replaced with a better quality #16 Car Keys Camera - eletoponline365 is the seller I get mine from.

Thanks for watching

I've been totally pleased with how well the NX performs. I'm thankful for Century offering a great performing 550 at such an affordable price - otherwise I'd only be flying 450s for quite a while.

It is only too bad that so many people in the RC Heli community do not realize that.

Thanks for the info that you posted on the camera FR4.I have always wanted to do a little videoing from the helis and planes but could not see spending 400.00 on a Drift or GoPro.I just ordered a #16 from the link you gave.I hope I have as good of success as you have. Do you have the new NX airborn yet ? take care

Not yet - just got word that my 100A ESC is shipping soon. I decided to try a YEP 100A to see if it's as good as everyone says (active freewheeling) Just been gathering all of the pieces - the ESC is the last part to get. She's gonna have:
  • 520mm stock wood blades (from my NX kit - 1800 max RPM) - initially. CF blades eventually.
  • Century 650A Plus 800kV (9T:1500, 10T:1670, 11T:1830, 12T:2000, 13T:2160)
  • Metal Motor Mount
  • Spartan DS760 Gyro
  • Spektrum AR6200 with Satellite
  • Hitec HS-635HB Cyclic servos
  • Align DS650 Tail servo
  • 100A YEP ESC with 6A BEC
I want to see how the 5A (6A max) BEC on the YEP handles the Rx, servo & gyro load. This heli should be lighter without the extra 2S lipo, 8A voltage regulator, and bottom metal plate currently on my 1st NX.

I use very soft fun-tack putty to hold the camera to the bottom - seems to filter out most of the vibration rather nicely. The resulting video is then upside down, but I flip it over in the video editor. Good luck with yours - can't wait to see the vids !

I just got my first "big" heli together and maidened it two days ago. The swift nx. Yesterday flying it the tail belt cane loose and spiraling down it went. Not to bad but no spare parts. Ordered parts from heli world. Are there any other places to get parts? I really am liking this heli .... hopefully the parts will be here soon and I can get it back in the air!!!

Almost 60°F today - with a 10mph tail wind from the south. Here's a few crazy fast fly-bys - crazy fast for me anyway I run out of field real quick with this heli.

He always uses them. They help with orientation.

Can you guys post a pic of how you have the tail servo set up on the tail boom? I am having problems with a drift and tail in general..... want to make sure I have it sitting right. I appreciate it....

Like Digger said those floats are for orientation. I'm starting to fly more without them, but if it's windy or the sun is low I still like to use them - my security blanky

Here's a couple of views of my tail servo - nothing too exciting going on there ...
