+1 to this theory!
the glue that holds the Stator didn't hold anymore and the stator spinned. so the winding winded around the stator holder (see pic 1+2).

personaly i would buy some good 1.32 wire (ore thicker Diameter) and do a rewind. --> you will get an awesome motor. the 700MX has good genes.
but then you have to secure the stator better to the holder --> fix it with a grub screw.

You are right, i mixed it up with scorpions.
So the press fit didn't hold the stator anymore... Same result something got worse

Got good news, Align is going to give me the 50% discount and let me keep my motor. I have one guy that will do the rewind for me, I'm just waiting to hear back from him with a price. I would attempt it myself but it looks pretty difficult and plus I don't have the right tools.

Thats a good outcome, ask him to do yy termination, they make wonderful rewinds, also ask him to pin the stator to holder.

700mx seems to have really bad magnetic coverage, similiar or worse than old scorpion HK 4035 12N10P series. Maybe it is time for you to switch to a better/newer motor.

700mx's construction seems not to have a anti-rotation pin for the stator/stator holder. You would stand a chance of having the stator rotating on the holder again after a rewind using your own glue system.

They use a very thin glue and the grove for the anti rotation pin is filled with it and acts as such.
I rewound a good number of those in the meantime and it was always the same.
I always widen the groves and insert a pin in addition to the glue after all testing is done.

The groove filled with glue is actually weaker than the bond on the other surfaces. No way it can prevent rotation as a steel pin does. In my opinion leaving the pin out is no option. All my rewinds have them installed too. I just grind a matching groove on the carrier, perfect for 1.5mm dia pins.

Btw I finished a 750mx this weekend (same build as 700mx, only a bit longer stator).
The motor was actually very easy to take apart, far too easy for my taste especially if there is no anti-rotation pin.
