Default Best motor and ESC combo for 20C batteries?

I'm wanting to upgrade my ESC and motor in my 450 for some more power. I've got a ton of 2200mah 20C batteries, so I would like whatever motor and ESC I get to use those....and not get them too hot. I had one of the cheepie Sonix 3900kv motors in it, and it was awesome....but it died on me.

I'm currently using a scorpion 3500kv motor, 13t pinion, and 30a ESC. The motor doesn't seem to have much power, and the ESC get's really hot.

I'm thinking about going with a higher watt motor, and a 40a ESC to feed it.

What would be a good motor & ESC combo that would work well for sport flying and mild 3D stuff, and still work good with 20C packs? What about one of the Turnigy motors and ESC's? Any advice would be great!

Thanks

If money is no issue: Jazz 40-6-18 & JGF500TH. Expensive, but maintenace free and worth your $$$

Otherwise; find a motor & esc that operate within 44A @ 11.1V (or 480W).

That's the juice you have available.

Which Scorpion motor do you have?

20C batteries will always struggle to deliver a lot of power especailly if they are old and tired. Why not invest your money in some Zippy 30C batteries and an ESC capable of handling 35A at least. My preference is the Castle Creations Phoenix or Ice range. The CC Ice speed controllers also incorporate a data logger so you can see exactly what is happening with voltage, current, headspeed etc..

It is backwards to spec the motor and ESC to a battery's C rating.

Well, I figured that since I have a ton of 20C batteries, and the setup I had before worked pretty good with them.....it would be kind of silly to buy all new batteries just because I picked out a motor that needed some 25C+ batteries. I'm just doing sport flying....not like I need to go out and $100 on some new batteries just for the heck of it
