Default Wanna get into a Walkera!!!

I was wondering how the switch from Spektrum to Walkera has been for you all on here. I wanna get into a Walkera, maybe a devo 10(don't need all the bells and whistles with the 8 or 6 or 12. Just wondering how hard it is to get it to run with the spektrum equipment and what's the best place to get one or a rtf package with one? Really likng the features I have seen so far and really really like the price. Thanks
Dean

with the deviation firmware that you can install on "most" devo remotes, you should be able to fly heaps of different types of heli's.... blade, nine eagles, walkera and more.... i've had a devo6s for about 9 monhs now... LOVE IT!!!

Superbike,

www.helircstore.com is a great Walki dealer. Bob is a really good guy and a pleasure to do business with.

The Dev10 is the best bang for the buck, but if you are going to make the plunge, an 8s is really the way to go. I have a 7 and a 7e, but I would gladly trade them both for an 8s or 12s.

Superbike, welcome to the walkie club.

I'll give a +1 to Bob, I really love getting my stuff from him. He's a great dude, and he answers his email.

I went from a spek Dx6i to a Devo 10 in a similar situation. I've only recently installed deviation, learned to program it, and got all of my helis crossed over to the Devo now. Devo 10 is roughly comparable to a 6i in build construction and heavy on features, especially with Deviation installed on it. The 8s and 12 have color touchscreens and other bells and whistles. I'm not sure what the current progress is on Devo 12 deviation firmware, but it is a recent addition to the deviation group comparatively. IIRC deviation was originally written for the 8s, but I could be wrong on that.

Which birds are you looking into? Most of the RTF kits have options for all of the new Devo Txs, so you can get the bird and the box and save some money. The smaller stuff isn't going to work on your spektrum tx without soldering new plugs and probably adding weight. There's a whole list of little idiosyncrocies with them just like all ultra-micro class helis. The V120D02S is probably the most popular on the 100+ class with the supers and the mini cp in the sub-100 class, along with the genius. The master cp I believe is a 200 size heli. All of these can be had with a variety of Tx choices for your first walkera. Enjoy.

I'm another one who is happy with my Walkera Helis. I have both a DX6i and a Devo 10.

I've been too lazy to switch over to Devention Software but it has not stopped me. My Sig has all my helis. Wow Hobbies have been great and so has Bob at RC Heli store. I have not had any problems with my helis. The ones i have crashed too a while (V120D02S) to fix but are up and running great. It was nothing difficult but I wanted to do it right without doing any damage.

I am looking at getting something larger than the V120 but i'm not tied to Blade or Walkera but i am leaning to either the Walkera V450 or Master CP.

Superbike1, on Devo TX's, just don't get the Devo 7, which is about the only one that doesn't have the USB port so that you can upgrade the firmware. I know, I have one and I like it, but wish I had one with the USB.
