Question Do I need to re-program ECU passing from T14 to T18 ?

Hi all
I’ve a Wren 44 converted T-Rex 700 that flies beautifully.

At the moment, I’m using my T14 FASST tx and I’m evaluating to pass to T18 MZ, also because it can easily import all T14 model programs keeping exact same setting without any need to touch or modify anything.

Question is : do you think that after binding same rx with new T18 MZ, will I have to redo the ECU throttle channel setup or not needed, as I would prefer not to risk to induce any variation in ECU itself?

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thank you very much and happy flying!

Denis

I've always recalibrated when changing radio for peace of mind, as there would be nothing worse than finding pulse widths on the new TX are off enough to potentially stop you shutting down in an emergency or failsafe failing.

+1. Due to possible variations between the 2 transmitters, electronic or mechanical, it is recommended to recalibrate the throttle.

Hi Chris, great!

P.S. As far as you may know, do you think that importing T14 programs into 18MZ , even subtrim and trim settings are normally taken are correctly transferred?

I would expect so, since a program should include all those settings...

Thank you very much & happy flying

Denis

Not being a Futaba flyer, I do believe they are transferred as well. Just be aware that they may need slight adjustment, so be cautious on that first flight.
