Flew my mcpx for the first time yestday and now I think its messed up
I was flying in my backyard for the first time and its not that big. I crashed into the house one, crashed into the trashcan and crashed into myself and have big welp on my stomach now. It does not seen like it is flying right now. When I give it alot of elevator to get it to lift off ground the blades or something starts making a loud chatter sound. I put a fresh battery in it and it would barely get off ground and would just go any direction. Any Idea what could be wrong already. I flew it for a total of 10 mins. I am depressed and want to quit already. That thing is hard to fly.

Main gear pushed up all the way? Flat spots aligned?
Probably everything that could happen is in an mCPx sticky. After checking main gear, check feathering shaft to see if bent. Follow instructions in sticky to check. Then check everything else that is in the sticky on mCPx wobble/crash. |

Just got mine flying yesterday and that little thing is quick.
Check the main gear and flat spots. Also check and make sure you are at 0 pitch at mid throttle. There is a video in the setup sticky for that. That was the issue with mine when I first took it out. Also, what TX are you using with it?

Yup! Sounds exactly like the main gear slipped. Take it off and put it back on. Happens almost every crash.

I checked my pitch right when I got it and it looked like both blades were set right to 0 pitch from factory. I am using a dx6i transmitter. I have my d/r's set on 45% and my expos set on 15%.There did seem to be a lot of play in the gear area. I thought I tried to push it back into place. maybe I did not push the gear up the right way. Will check tonight when I get home from work. Thanks!

Yeap you must have 0 slack in gear. Use a pen or nut driver that will fit over the gear hub. Any slack and it takes away you positive pitch.

since this is your first cp heli you shouldnt be running the standard dx6i settings from the manual. You are going to crash the crap outta this thing like you already did! there are beginner dx6i settings in the setup sticky

I imagine we all progress a little differently but my DR/Expo setting progression went like this:
30/10, 50/10, 70/10 to the 70/30 and 100/30 stock settings i use currently. I found any more than 10 Expo did not work for me as a beginner with the low D/R settings because nothing would happen with a small stick movement and then a lot would happen with a large movement. |

Follow Ron's settigs as you indicated you would and you will progress very quickly. I did not have the benefit of those settings at first. I felt like every flight was an adventure but eventually got it. I used his settings over the winter to fly inside and re-inforce orientations the differece in my flying is dramatic. I am back to 100%, no expo and the heli is very easy to fly. Slowing the bird down via Ron's settings allow you to learn what the heli does in response to your stick movements. Very stable but still has a bunch of zip. You will be a happy camper.

This is my first cp, I used the stock dx6i setting and was already playing with high rates on day 2. The stock settings aren't bad at all for beginners.
