Default Which Loerw Spec Notebook for Simulator

I know it's an open question and l have looked at the requirements of Pheonix and Heli-X but still don't have a spec to go shopping with.

In Melbourne Australia, the cheaper (low spec) notebooks have Intel HD5500 GPUs with i3 or i5 2GHz CPUs and 4Gb RAM. These are around $500Aus.
Anybody running this lower spec machine successfully with both sims?

At about $1250Aus, the Mac Book Air comes along. These have Intel CPUs as required by Heli-X.
How much of a pain is Bootcamp, so Pheonix can be run?
Will a low end Apple runt these successfully?

Or do l have to have a 'game' spec machine to run both to avoid glitchy low frame rates?

Any help appreciated.

Both Phoenix and Heli-X run great on low spec machines. A $600 laptop will be more than enough. i3 or i5 is plenty. A good graphics card always helps though (even an on-board Intel or nVidia chipset is good enough).

Pretty much if you can play a video on the PC, a sim is no problem.

Only run Windows and Linux systems, so cannot comment on bootcamp for mac from experience. From what I have read from other people, it's not much hassle to run and sims run in it fine.

I'm running Accurc V3 alpha and Heli-X V10 demo on an Acer Aspire 3 non-gaming laptop with Intel 10Gen Quad-core Cpu and dedicated Nvidia MX230 card.

I would call this the absolute minimum for newer Sims.
But it heats quite much at the bottom side.

RealFlight V6.5 runs on a very old Amd Athlon Xp (32-bit) and some lower cost 6500 Nvidia card or how it's called.

Reflex Xtr ran on a Acer Intel Core Duo Cpu and crappy internal Gfx.
Newer chips are based on Intel Hd, Uhd, Iris, etc.

Rf7.5 has the higher Polygons limit and requires Windows 7+ and just runs on DirectX 9.0c just like slightly updated versions RF8-9.5(s).

Would recommend to get a gaming Laptop with 4 good not too loud fans with ventilation grilles on the back and right/left sides and supporting nice heatpipe system.

Newer Laptops at least offer a Nvidia 1660ti or Rtx3060/3070 graphic card.
