set up Advice with the msh protos

i am getting a msh protos very soon like in a few days or something
advice about the gyro,servos batt's, pitch range?

Hi,

The Spartan DS760 is a great gyro with very easy setup procedures, and for the tail servo most people use JR 3500G and Futaba 9257. The 2 most popular cyclic servos to use are JR DS3517MG and Futaba 9650. +- 12.5 has been working great for me for hard 3D.

There are a number of batteries to choose from. Generally, look for something in this range: 6S 2200-3000mAh 25-40C. For example, I use Outrage 6S 2500mAh 35C packs and I'm happy with them. My other friend uses ThunderPower 6S 2700mAh 30C, and Tareq uses PowerEdge 2600mAh 38C packs... There are so many to choose from.

If you want one of the strongest batteries you can put in that heli, look at the PowerEdge 2600 38C 6S pack. Tareq Al Saddi in UAE has been flying our packs for past few months.

well thank you george but i think i will go with the 9650 and upgrade them with metal gear
to spare my self the head ache of any failure on the gyro i know the spartan is one of the best performers when it comes to gyros but in egypt we dont have it around so i think i will either go with the futaba 611 or with its own servo i know the servo is a lil heavier than mini sized ones but with the protos weight i think i can use extra few grams
or i can simply use the 401 with 9257
And about power edge batteries i think they are too expensive ,they are even more expensive than the thunder power pro and i dont c why
so i think i will go with either thunderpower pro or the new hyperion batts that i can charge them up to 4 or 5 c and they are with in the reasonable prices
so power edge i think they suck cause of there price too too expensive and lipos are suppose to be getting lighter and cheaper while there c rating is going higher

Hareedy, I'm sorry you feel that our batteries are too expensive. The closest TP pack to our 2600 38C 6S pack is their 2700 30C which is $179.95 and is 8C less. The TP 2600 6S ProLite is a 18C pack and is $149.95. Neither pack can be made as a direct comparison. Our 2200 6S 30C pack sells for $126.95.

As of today, we now support 3C charging of our 30C and above packs.

I'm sure you will be happy with whatever pack that you select. Thank you.

well RC accessory power edge batts have higher specs than the thunderpower batts
i totally agree we cant do a direct comparison between both
but excuse my ignorance but i havent heard about power edge before so i think that thunder power batts have a bigger name so there pricing are higher than other brands but i have tried allot of batts and in my humble opinion i think thunderpower and flight power are in another league
this is just my opinion i might be rite or wrong but as i said its just an opinion
by the way um not trying to do a debate

Sorry Hareedy, your statements have no facts behind them. Because YOU have never heard of our PowerEdge batteries does not mean the others are in a different league. Only a few years ago some unknown company comes out with an electric helicopter called a T-Rex and redefined the way an electric helicopter is seen. Just a few years ago some company from the UK that no one here in the US ever heard of develops a great (at the time) lipo battery, their company name was FlightPower. About a year and half ago some small company comes out with a new series of electric motors that no one ever heard of called Scorpion and redefined power of an electric motor.

At one time or another, no one ever heard of any of these companies. Maybe you should take a look at out customer testimonials. These are 100% the words of the customer, except where we removed the battery they mention they used before. http://www.poweredgerc.com/testimonials.aspx

4th this is just my opinion i didnt say that u have to agree with me
5th all i said that power edge are expensive if u put in consideration that they are a new company
6th scorpion pricing is unmatched and because ther r gaining more rep. as we speak there prices are getting higher because of there fine products BUT THEY STARTED WITH LOW PRICES
7th Align is a great company when it comes to marketing there products and there pricing startegy but not when it comes to quality

9) I would reconsider getting the 9650 and converting them to metal gears. The cost will be almost the same as getting 3517MGs, but I've had tons of issues with the metal gear conversion. In some cases they dont fit "perfectly" and might damage your servo and eventually your heli... I learned that the hard way and wanted to share my experience... Choice is yours...

hey guys i finally got the protos
i decided to use the 611 as i know this gyro and its setup quite well
and i got the mini inolab servos mg for the cyclic and they are quite good i have been using micro ino lab on the beam for over a year now and um quite happy with them
but i do have a few notices on the protos
u must u must immediately change the tail rotor blades
well the plastic parts are ok
but i would of loved a taller vertical fin
and a metal canopy mounts with the metal servo case but corrado recently made an up grade with it
and a carbon battery tray with metal support and carbon bottom plate instead of the plastic one
and a metal tail case

do not use the inolab mini metal gear servos
i was flying the protos yesterday and i had a couple of trimming issues for the serovs and then boom the servo motor got burnt and i crashed and i found out that one of the servos got stock in a full down position
i should of listened to vibe and got the JR servos and thats what i am doing rite now
