Kindly do a search....
I believe quite a number of guys have them if not half of the guys running FBL setups. I for one have it but have not installed it yet,and there's a review of this head somewhere here. Found one.... https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=367055 Last edited by Scorny; 04-25-2012 at 09:45 AM.. Reason: Did a search. |

I would highly recommend trying the DFC head, Mechanically it is very simple and setup was so easy. I remember the days on the B400 and trying to get all the linkages setup just right..... It took me like 20 minutes as I was building my new Trex 700e to setup the DFC head I also believe DFC will survive a crash better and if not OK you replace like what, five parts. My only suggestion to Align would be to have 0 degree pitch markers on the blade grips and the rotor head that would make setup even more easy.

I'm running the DFC head on 3 of my heli and so far I'm very satisfied. Very easy to setup and just looks clean.

Love mine. Can't wait for the 250 DFC to become available.

This head makes the heli fly much nicer, I really like it! Just make sure you use harder dampeners, Align DFC dampeners and Trueblood dampeners are great choices for this head.

How do you (y'all) think the DFC would do at 1950-2000 running Mavrikk 690s and RT 115s? I'm a strong intermediate flyer, learning more aggressive 3D.
Right now I run the lime green KBDD and really like them, but they seem to start to wobble below ~1950. Those probably aren't stiff enough, are they?

I think the end result with flybarless is very much dependant upon a ridged head, fast servos and flybarless system features compared to a mechanical flybarless with soft dampers, slower servos, lighter blades and paddles.

I would like to clarify. Does this kit extend the main shaft so that a 3rd bearing block can be used?

It does, I just put the third bearing block in two nights ago, I don't have a picture right now but I can post one tonight if you want.

I absolutely love mine. I am using the stock dampers but I am just a big air, very light 3D guy. I have flown the 700e with both the standard FBL head and now with the DFC and I much prefer the DFC version. Just feels more crist and connected.
I just bought a V2 550e and will be putting a DFC head on it too S

Personally I hated the DFC on the 700e. I took it off after around 15 flights and reverted back to the original FBL v2 head. It made the blade noise way too loud, constantly, and made the machine look too small in the air. A 90 should look like a 90 IMO. I also genuinely don't believe it made a bit of difference to the way it flew, and have confirmed that by fitting the original and flying with that for lots of flights.
On the other hand I love it on the 550. It made a lot of difference on that, it's no noisier, but it is sharper and more efficient.
