DJI Flamewheel 550 questions
I have been running a flamewheel 550 hex all summer with the stock esc's and motors with the graupner 10 inch props. Running 5000 3s batteries is only giving me about 4 minutes of flight time. My total weight with camera mount, landing gear and gopro camera is over 6 pounds. My question is what are my options for getting more flight time? Is my only option to replace the esc's, motors and props so that I can fly with 6s batteries, or does it make more sense to just get a different bird altogether? Also does anyone know how much flight time I could expect with 6s batteries and a 6 pound total load? Thanks for any help.

1+ I run parallel 3S 3300 Mah and 2600 Mah packs on my F450 with GoPro Hero2 and get about 10 minutes solid flight time. Don't forget that a 6S lipo is 22.2 volts while a 3S is 11.1 volts. You may fry a few things unless your electronics and everything else can handle that voltage.

Was running the 8S DJI Props, but now am running the 10" GemFan props and really like them. They are much quieter than the DJI and look better.
I get about 13 mins of flight time with this setup: F550 DJI Naza with GPS addon AR8000 + Satellite + Telemetry TM1000 HK 900MHz 800mw transmitter HK NTSC FPV Camera Hobbypartz LED Package (Green and Red on arms, fed with main power battery with home made stepdown regulator) Quadframe.us landing gear 200mm (HUGE! LOL) Quadframe.us GoPro Camera Gimbal GoPro Hero 2 2x Gens Ace 25C 4S 4000MAh batteries 850MAh Desire Power 3S Battery for FPV power |

Wow this is wonderful to hear. Sounds like I should be ok keeping my graupner 10 inch props then. I am also going to try setting up fpv. I appreciate you taking the time to send me your setup.
