Default next up from TT Mini Titan

So impressed it is that I am with my TTMT that I went looking for a Thunder Tiger 30 size (AKA 500) Titan but there doesn't seem to be one. It's a shame cos I would have loved a big version of the Mini Titan in electric.

So what do I get which is the next size brother of it?

Thanks for that suggestion. I checked it out but it has a torque tube tail drive and I really don't like them. Also I was thinking more of a 30 size.

X50 has belt/tt tail options. Raptor 30v2 nitro is about the only 500 size they have, also shares some parts with the mt

I like the belt tail. I have a Rappy 30 already. I want an electric in that size.

Thunder Tiger did at one time make a 550 electric not long ago. Raptor e 550. I read it is coming back in Europe.

That would do nicely.

Why a TT E550?

Don't get me wrong, I like the look of it, the construction and quality of the parts and I'm currently rebuilding mine, but it is large, heavy, slow and not very exciting. The reason I'm rebuilding it is precisely because it has excellent visibility (huge canopy) and is very stable (for a flybarred heli) with wind.

Sure, you can spice up the E550 if you run it on 8S or stretch it to a E620 on 10-12S, but maybe something like the Gaui X5 might be a better choice. Or the TT X50E if a modern 600-size is okay too.

Another big plus for the E550 (maybe also other TT helis): it is very easy to work on and has loads of room for the electronics.

punkin71 pointed it out and it looked fine when I Googled it. If there were a new version brought out surely it would be updated. I do like TT stuff but I am just thinking to get a bigger electric so any that matches the way the M Titan flies is a possibility. Also, you say it is stable, I like that.

You could always just pick up a second mini titan and do a stretch to run 350mm blades. But that wouldnt be anywhere near a 30 size.

Yes I'd thought of that but I want to go 30 or maybe bigger. 30 is enough for me though.

You do know that raptor 50 and 30 are pretty much identical right? The only difference is a slightly longer tail boom on the 50. Also it you like the mini the x50 is the closest to it in terms of tech. The old raptor 30 and 50 are mCCPM and are heavy heavy birds. I wish I had gotten a x50 or a Rex 600 instead of the raptor 50 I have now. You want to but a cheap Raptor 50?
