Default N640 Feathering shaft

Hello all, need some help replacing the feathering spindle on my n640, the new one came with a plastic washer on it but it doesn't seem to fit into the head, it just slides on the shaft, any tips on how to get this back in?

plastic washer? You wouldn't happen to be referring to the plastic ball in the center of the spindle would you?

That plastic piece should stay at the center of the spindle.

Need to install a damper on one side of the hub, slide the spindle in, then press in the other damper from the other side. Helps the entire process if you lube everything up with a silicone grease. You could also apply a tiny dab of CA glue to help make sure that plastic ball stays in the center.

You cant put the spindle through a damper or it will move that ball out of the way.

Not sure if this helps or not, let me know.

Just to emphasize that it is important to make sure you use a synthetic grease on the dampers and NOT a petroleum based type.
