Default Ordered 550mm blades by accident

I'm running a stock V1 setup 600MX motor and the helical gear 188/18t.

Will I have any problems with this? Is anyone running this configuration?

I don't mind trying it out I just don't want the heli to blowup lol

I have run both my FB and FBL with 600M motors and 170T MG and 16T Pinion with no problem. I just had to increase the head speed from 80% to 85%.

Yo! Aha, that's 10,44 in ratio, a little lower than stock. Would be ok I think, have run my V1 completely stock (10,63) with MX-motor and 550-blades almost since maiden and it flies really well. At 1800-2300 rpm or something depending on flight style.

Fly em.

I have the same gear setup but with the older 600M motor. 2150 RPM and the heli floats better now. Feels larger, I guess because it is sort of.

Do you not need a longer boom with the bigger blades?

i forgot i had switched blades to 550 before i lifted off, so everything was set for the 520s. never changed anything, heli grooves very well, and still has plenty of pop. there is enough clearance for the tail blades. i think the trend will be towards larger blades as people start flying them. a

No, not with the 550mm blades, but some would say to use the shorter 85mm tail blades to be safe.
Others fly with 550 mains and 90mm tail blades with no issues.

the 90mm blades work fine. the downward arc of the main blades has plenty of clearance from the tail.

Apart from autos, what is the difference in flight between the 520 and 550mm blades?

Can someone tell me how the heli reacts etc in flight with the 550mm blades compared to the 520mm blades.

With the 550mm blades, the heli feels larger and more stable compared to the 520mm, but in terms of agility and flight times, i think the 520 wins the 550.

But it makes up for that in auto-performance.
