Tail gear/pulley assembly replacement
Hey everyone, great site with a ton of useful information. Any idea where I can get a video or description of how to remove and replace the Tail gear/pulley assembly? Can't seem to find this info anywhere, and it looks like a bear to replace.
Thanks! |

I just used this guide, and now I have a spare motor waiting to go in, with some lovely Boca Bearings in there The stock bearings were a little tough to get out but came eventually

So when trying to place the C ring back on, I lost it in the carpet. I don't suppose I can find this C ring anywhere to purchase? A whole new motor for a part worth pennies stinks.

I have quite a few, so if you can't find them locally, I'd be happy to send you some. No charge.

Thanks for the offer!
I did find the c ring with a magnet thankfully. Scratch that...while placing the clip on the needle nose and about to insert in the plastic bag, it popped off...no idea where it fell, unlike last time. Finally. Found it again, and after 2 quality engineers assisting, it is finally back on. What seemed to work best was tweezers. Got it in the groove easily and then used the tweezer tip to push it on. Worked on the first try. Needle nose pliers were not working. Last edited by jrwalte; 04-12-2013 at 12:03 PM.. |

Replacement C Ring
I measured the c ring for future reference.
Inner Dimension diameter is 2.5 mm (.098") thickness is .38 mm (.0149") This one should work. ID is .102 (.098 is within its tolerance range) and the thickness matches at .015. http://www.mcmaster.com/#cadinlnord/98808a305/=mag46q |

What's the bearing size on the 440 motor? Is it a 3x7x3 like the 420?
Got a motor that I broke dwn today that you can move the inner race on the bottom bearing side to side with the shaft out Shaft has marks but not grooves, which I think will be ok
