Default 22kW Modification TDR

RC Mania reports about a soon to be released mod package that will allow high power setups on TDR. No more info than this photo.

Big shaft won't be much good if the gears won't hold the power. Lets hope they have a solution for that. The other problem would be space to put a bigger motor.

Doesnt look to be made by henseleit.

So i guess 12mm main shaft and head dampers stronger. Perhaps belt drive?

2nd stage is weaker than 1st

Seems like a dud move releasing parts for a heli no longer in production. The parts don't look to be high quality like henseleit parts my guess is they won't sell more than a handful of kits. The TDR is now a clasic and butchering one with cheap parts would be a crime.

I still think the TDR is at its best with weight and power it was originally designed for.

Personally I think the TDR will age very gracefully and be a great flier for many years to come if Jan will keep spare parts for it. It is a very different helicopter from the TDR-2.

If you want a high power drive train I would think the TDR-2 would be a better choice. Designed from the ground up to handle 16kW. I think I would trust it over a hot rodded TDR.
