Default Spartan AP2000i

I have purchased an unit of spartan Ap2000i from HobbyCity recently. From what I understand, you can stabilize both Flybar and Flybarless.

Flybar - you just need to buy FMA Sensor only.
FBL- You need to buy FMA Sensor + 2 piezo gyroes

Has anyone used this AP-2000i integrated with FMA Sensors? how's the response? is it working better than Copilot 2? How do we program this AP-2000i? I'm interested in the flight stabilization only - Not the Flybarless (sometimes having the flybar making the heli looks like the real RC helicopter )

Yes, for stabilization with or w/o a flybar, you must have the FMA IR sensor installed.

We've got a companion quide for the Spartan user guide that give you the step by step for installation of the AP2000i in it's stabilization mode. You can see it here: www.webberaerialimaging.com/quickstart.html

If you are not needing to free a channel on your rx, you can just connect the two leads to the rx as normally done. If you are looking to free a channel, you need to connect the gyro gain lead to slot #4 on your AP2000i. Then adjust TRM4 in the AP2000i menu to get the desired setting on your gyro. You'll want to start on a low setting and test fly to adjust. The values in the AP2000i do not correspond to typical reading like a tx gyro menu, i.e. with a gy401, I was using +12% in TRM4.

If you've got any more question or need some clarification, please feel free to email me directly and I'll likely see an email sooner than a forum post. mark at wai-rc.com
