What do you guys think of this?

The last flight that I did with my Trex I was getting really poor tail control. When I landed I discovered that the tail was coming apart.

In the attached photo it appears that the blade grip on the right will not tighten down all the way. I checked it and the bolt is tight. I am thinking that I may have a buildup of threadlock in there. Anyone got any ideas of how I can get it out?

The left grip is coming off the bearing. This was assembled for me when the kit came so I dont know what to do to repair it.

I am getting christmas leave and would like to get it back in the air over the holiday. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Take it all apart and make sure the bearings haven't separated. It is a simple design, download the manual from Align's website to see the breakdown diagram.

Wow, you were very close to disaster there, glad you got it down before that grip let loose!!

If it was mine, I'd buy a new tail hub, bearings and screws. Or the whole assembly. This time, disassemble it, clean any locktite that might be on there, and reassemble with blue (med strength) thread locker.

Seems this part is hard to find. Here's an eBay link if you're so inclined.

BTW, I've never ordered from HeliPal. ReadyHeli and others were out of stock on it.

I can vouch for the club heli parts being nice. Be sure to oil the bearings and blue loctite the screws.

sounds like some bearings will do ya. manual page 12 calls for 2x5x2.5mm and 3x6x2.5mm for each grip
