MCPX V2 Vibration/Blade Tracking
So I Have not posted on here much, but I have learned a lot on this forum and it has gotten me to where I am in the Hobby, but I am in need of some help on my current issue.
My V2 has terrible blade tracking adn wobble. It seemed to start when I put on KBDD main blades. They seemed to be out of track, so I checked balancing which was good. I then put the stock blades back on and still had the bad track and vibes. So at this point, I tried a new V2 feathering shaft, then put on all BL head parts, and a microheli swash plate and teh vibes and tracking are worse than they were, Should also mention I have the solid long tail boom as well, and have already check teh obvious stuff, like the main gear being pushed up and tigtening/loosening the FS. I would appreciate ny help, its impossible to learn CP when the heli wont fly correctly. Thanks!!! |

I assume that you have the assembly of the BL head correct...
The thrust washer flange faces the grip bearing... Did you check the main shaft to see if it is split? The V2 board is really touchy with vibrations...luckily most of My mCPX's are V1's |

I second JonJet's suggestions, especially the main shaft, and add to try the blades on the opposite side. I chased vibes with one of my V2's for weeks. I have the BL head on all mine. Finally pulled one from another bird and put it on. Vibes gone. Put the viby one on the other and no vibes. I never did figure out exactly what is / was wrong but both are perfect now. No vibes and blade tracking is darn near perfect.

The entire head assembly is installed correctly. The main shaft I am unsure of, I took the hub and twisted to see the deflection, and it does have a bit of twist to it.

Easy way to check the shaft...pull the entire head off and insert an xacto knife into the top...turn the knife gently and look for separation

So it has been a while since I started this thread, but I wanted to update. I ended up replacing the main shaft with the solid CF one, and also tried a new completely stock set of blades. i am still having bad vibes and the blade tracking is off. Does anyone have any more suggestions on what to check or adjust? I have almost replaced everything on this heli and its still pretty bad.
Also forgot to add, when I replaced the main shaft I put a new gear on as well. |

Sure sounds like something is amiss in the head assembly...
Did you double-check that the thrust washer flanges face the blade grips bearings? |

Bent or worn out swash/head links can cause the blade tracking to be bad. Look for white stress marks on the links. And the metal servo pushrods sometimes get weak, making servo input lag behind. I also once had a main blade which was skewed sightly (twist in the blade).
How is your bird when spooled up without blades? Feel the frame/boom for vibes. If everything checks out ok, you may have to dynamically balance your head. I do this by CAREFULLY (wear glasses!) spooling up the heli with blades in my hand. If I feel vibes I add a piece of tape to one blade. If it´s getting worse I put the tape to the other blade. Repeat process with different amount/position of tape. I´ve given up on statically balancing these micro blades.

I have never ran the head up without blades but I can definitely try it out. The only thing with that is I have tried multiple sets of blades from multiple manufacturers with no luck. I have kbdd, stock blades, and have tried both regular and bullet. All with the same effect. |

It would seem that your vibration issue is going to be difficult to resolve in this forum...
You might need to have another hobbyist with some mCPX experience take a look at it for you...have a local club? I would gladly do it, but that's a shipping cost both ways |
