Default How to, Tips, And Mods

Here are some useful liks to other threads:

Stock info from Gaui:

The parts manuals links that were here originally were moved. here is a link to the Gaui page that has all the manuals that are still available. I figured rather than linking to them separately, I'd link direct to the site with all the manuals available.

http://www.gaui.com.tw/html/download.asp?darea=3&cat=90

How To and Instrucions:

Hurricane 550 Build Videos Bobs how to videos, lots of good info here
Expanded 425/550 HS calculator good HS calc to help you with gearing your heli
new kid on the block (INSANE motor) build thread for installing a larger diameter motor (4020 size in this case) and extending the pitch/roll arms to compensate.
Step by step guide to rewinding your 1100kv/1500W motor! a good how to cool off those HOT stock Gaui motors if you are up to the task.

Tips and Tricks:

Tip for getting 0 degrees pitch
Understanding Gaui 550 Head Programming
Sleeving the pin (tip for keeping the tail gear pin in check)
A little extra... (tip for getting a little more cyclic range when running over 11º collective)

Mods:

Compatible parts between 550 and X5 (Vas will be updating this for cross compatability)
550 tt hack??? making your 550 into a torque tube heli with 550mm blades
TT for 550's Toranas excellent 550mm blade tt how to mod
spot the mod (DIY 425/550 Spindle Sleeve) use this tip to make your head more rigid
Swash plate part broken/missing - solution found! (Tip to replace a broken AR pin so you don't have to buy a whole AR bracket if it breaks)

Aftermarket upgrades:

Non-Gaui parts gunkle's thread compiling a list of commonly used aftermarket parts.
Sonix Main and tail grips this post has links to the popular Sonix main and tail grips.
VXB OWB upgrade
Headhunter Heli's Ben's (and now Scott's) site for the popular Head Hunter frame, bearing, and motor mount upgrade
