I installed the DS35 today, I made my wires too short so I just mounted the servo on the opposite side, the left side. I reversed my servo on my dx6i and the rudder functions correctly, however the heli just spins on the ground once I try and give it throttle. Any ideas?

You have to mechanically reverse the servo, so figure out a way to do it like extending your wires to flip it around. You can't just reverse it electronically with the TX because there's no way to reverse the tail gyro channel. Your tail gyro is now "compensating" in exactly the wrong direction, which is nothing but spinning.

yes, mount it on the right side of the boom (if looking from the rear)

what if I just reversed the way the tail blades responded to pitch input. All I would need to do is swap the tail grips around to the other side, then when the gyro gives them pitch they should respond correctly

Either that or rotate the servo arm 180 degrees to the other side. It has to be done mechanically since you cannot reverse one without the other and you cannot reverse the tail gyro's output. Unfortunately, there is no way except a firmware hack (has anyone even done it?) that a gyro channel can be reversed on the micro AS3X system, which is the FBL controller on the 130X.

You could do that and it would kinda "work". That method is still mechanically reversing the tail output (throw, not gyro) versus electronically reversing it in the TX. But, mechanically flipping the servo output at the servo is the best way to do it. That's why I like a vertical servo mount like the Microheli one. Very easy to just move the servo arm to the other side and bend the tail rotor pushrod as necessary instead of having to flip the whole servo over.

Jeb I did the same thing as you when I first put mine on. Just flip it around, its much easier. Take extra wire and solder it in if need be. I run my ds35 wires down through the bottom of the frame with a zip tie to hold it. Works great and the tail hold is much better with this servo.
