Default Anyone using the speed frame over a traditional frame.

I'm loving the speed frame more and more each time I see one

Just out of curiosity as I'm surprised I do not see alot of them talked about for a average used heli, meaning not just set up to give it hell so to speak lol. I'm seriously thinking about retiring my goblin 700 non competition and transferring my 693mm blades and all my electronics over, quantum 4530 500KV, cc160 and my outrage servos.

My question is obviously seeing the video of Bert showing off its 3D capability that this heli is in every way just as capable as the competition version, am I correct?

Downfall is I guess the canopy is much larger, cost is significantly more by only 40 or so dollars. Probably results in possible cg differences? Is there a reason why someone would choose a competition over a speed frame for a smack 3D or low headspeed 3D machine besides looks?

Some input would be appreciated before I bully some people on the forsale forums hahahhahaha

So, the speed airframe is really a set of competition frames with an extension bolted on the front to give the esc a place to live up top and a set of stubby "landing skids" under the canopy. The battery is dropped down to a level position instead of angled and you get the better engine mount (cooling type) and all metal gears like the 770. Almost all other mods to the speed involve the canopy mounting, landing gear and the sleeker tail case. Something to note, fitting some servos in the narrow speed canopy can be difficult as well. The BK servos fit with extra space, some of the taller servos don't fit at all. It is certainly 3D capable and will take abuse from almost any power system you can think of. I will say that on a day with bad crosswinds, the tall canopy does tend to get blown around a bit. The best way to view the differences in Goblin models is by downloading the respective manuals from Goblin-Helicopter.com
Hope this helps.

I wish it was this easy

My goblin is the very first production version lol. I've replaced the known issue parts and added the new updated page in my manual etc so I'd like to say it's second batch now lol. And I've added the hps head.

Anyways as you can see I'll need alot of parts, competition frames for starters

I have a speed that I 3D the shit out of...

My biggest complaint is that its a total PITA to change lipos unless you are running a stick pack due to the extra frame piece and the ESC location
