At most he probably saw my lame attempt at auto'ing-it was a rough landing but at least it stayed on the skids. It would have been nice if I could have slapped in another pack and then performed a thrilling death-spiraling reverse piro hurricane with a twist-but alas, no pack, no mad 3d skilz. Nuts.

That reminds me of this guy that used to run his mouth about what a good dirt biker he was and all the pros he'd ride with. He finally bought himself a new YZ250 so we invited him to come to the desert with us. Not ten minutes into the 1st ride, he tries to jump it off a small berm and endoes, breaking all the fingers on his right hand, breaking his collarbone and a couple ribs.

We never saw him again.

What, no cell phone camera? Or did that just not cross your mind in the heat of laughter? A picture of his dented up car and smashed heli would have been priceless! You should stake out the field for the next time he attempts to fly and get some vid. Funny how you never see the person who lives practically paycheck to paycheck with those attitudes. Really shows the appreciation level.

Lucky for Mr. Stain that he wasn't taking up hang gliding.

Geez I think some of you are a little hard on the guy...

Sure, his comments about "real" helis are utterly stupid.

But look at it this way, at least he has some interest in shanks...

Perhaps you should've given him your number and offered him some help. Perhaps he'd cool down after a few days and get some humility. Maybe down deep, he really isn't that much of a prick. Then again, maybe he is...

Well it sounded like he got what he deserved after being such a prick. I never understood why people act that way. Man that is seriously funny though. I would have been laughing my ass off too. I probably would have told him. "Well a little bit harder than planes eh!" Idiot. Wow that was a great laugh. Thanks for the story. Good stuff.

Funny story, but sad to hear about people reacting that way when you try to be nice to them, have seen it to much my self about differnet things, that's why i prefer to go far from where people are to enjoy my rc hobby.

Sure like someone said, not all can be friends, but we can all try to be nice to eachother atleast.

I think that person was very insecure in general (maybe just over the first heliflight), and that's why he reacted the way he did, and he had probably calmed down to the next day and was feeling bad for the way he treated you.
on the other hand..... he might as well been this way all his life, bad attitude and short temper etc, who knows.

Well, i dont really think he will continue with helis, i think he will sell that on ebay as new, and go back to flying planes.

Helis will take allot of patience and a relaxed person with no short temper, and sensitive fingers. The ability to talk and listen to others wont hurt either

Real good story, where is the camera when you need it
